[PHILIPPINES] SEVENTEEN Blooms Brightly at ‘Ideal Cut’ Tour in Manila

SEVENTEEN is probably one of the most versatile K-pop groups of this generation. With musical abilities that cater tastes from hip-hop to pop to ballad, the 13 members has solidified their place in the industry. Although a big numbered group with members belonging to three different sub-units, namely the Hip-Hop Unit, Performance Unit, and the Vocal Unit, this group never fails to move as one.

Last September 29, S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino graced the Mall of Asia Arena with their presence. Although performing in Manila for the third time, the boys didn’t fail to show different sides of themselves.

Here are some of the highlights that took Filipino CARATs’ world by storm!

Intense Performances
This is not a surprise to anyone that knows SEVENTEEN well. The members have always given spectacular performances that blends their A+ synchronisation and impressive vocals even when performing b-sides such as ‘Highlight’, ‘No F.U.N’,  and ‘Chuck’.

Filipino CARATs have also witnessed live performances of the group’s hit songs such as the rock version of ‘Clap’, ‘Thanks’, debut song ‘Adore You’, ‘Pretty U’, and ‘Very Nice’ which they repeated four times before the concert ended.

Unit songs
Aside from the songs that they presented as a whole group, Filipino CARATs were also lucky to have witnessed different units perform their respective songs. The team leaders started off with their catchy track ‘Change Up’, followed by the Hip-hop team who set the stage on fire with ‘Un Haeng Il Chi’. After the intense rapping, CARATs relaxed with the Vocal team, with an emotional and heartwarming performance of ‘Pinwheel’.

The Performance team, on the other hand, showed a fun side of the group when they danced to ‘Swimming Fool’ and ‘Jam Jam’. Bonus unit performances were shown such as Mingyu, DK, and Jun’s ‘Hello’ as well as Vernon and Joshua’s ‘Rocket’, which was so good it took the crowd to the outer space.

SEVENTEEN’s amusing moments
Aside from their spectacular performances, the boys are also known for their colorful personalities and sense of humor. And in that night, the audience laughed along with their funny adlibs and lines.

CARATs were put to the test as Vernon tried to do the classic “say ho” adlib, just to have it end up with continuous screams. Honorary Hip-hop team member Joshua also showcased his rapping skills, which earned approval from the audience. DK then followed with a much faster rap and Wonwoo was requested to say “Mahal kita (I love you)”, but ended up making an impromptu song using the line as lyrics.

CARAT’ efforts to show their love
Fan projects are nothing new when it comes to K-pop but Filipino CARATs have prepared not just one, or two, but three special events to show their appreciation for the boys. The first one was a banner project during ‘Oh My!’. Fans held up pieces of paper that said “Let’s bloom brightly and beautifully together like a sunflower”

The second one involved their beautiful caratbong(s). They have changed the color to yellow as the boys sang ‘Campfire’. The boys expressed their awe as they took some time to appreciate the special moment. CARATs also formed a message saying thank you to SEVENTEEN, which the boys also didn’t fail to notice.

It was truly a night of a beautiful bond shared between SEVENTEEN and Filipino CARATs. Aside from the group giving their all during the performances, they have also received the equal amount of support from the lovely crowd that attended their concert. With full hearts and smiley faces, the fans left the venue knowing that they have fully experienced the diamond life and are looking forward to the next reunion. We would like to thank Pulp Live World for inviting us to cover this event! 🙂
