CUCKOOTOPIA Exclusive Media Session: #SAMASAMAwithLEEJUNHO

Moderated by the lovely Miss Natalie Chai, the exclusive media session offered a closer look at Lee Junho beyond his familiar roles on screen and stage. Through a series of questions from the media, he shared thoughtful insights into his approach to healthy living, his acting career and some of his recent experiences.
When asked about his personal goals for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Lee Junho shared that he makes the most of his days off by focusing on eating well. More than simply looking after himself, he hopes to enjoy a healthy life alongside the people he cares about, including his fans and family. It was a simple yet heartfelt response that reflected his thoughtful nature.
He also spoke about how his lifestyle changes when preparing for a new acting role. Rather than focusing solely on understanding his character, he puts considerable thought into planning his daily routine and adjusting his way of life to better embody the role. His dedication to getting into character is yet another testament to the commitment he brings to his craft.
Of course, no visit to Malaysia would be complete without a little food talk! In a question that was particularly close to home for the Malaysian audience, Lee Junho was asked what he would want to bring back to South Korea from Malaysia the most. Without missing a beat, he picked roti tisu. He even revealed that he had tried it with pistachio sauce, an interesting combination that might just inspire his Malaysian fans to give it a go themselves.
The conversation then turned to his recent appearance in Netflix’s Kian’s Bizarre B&B Season 2. Lee Junho described the experience as both demanding and enjoyable, revealing that the cast and crew filmed with cameras running 24 hours a day over nine days. Despite the intensity of the filming schedule, he found the experience refreshing and particularly inspiring, as it gave him the opportunity to welcome and interact with guests from different industries.
When asked whether he would consider taking on more variety show appearances in the future, he shared that nothing has been confirmed just yet, but he hopes to greet audiences through new programmes and show them different sides of himself. When the moderator playfully pointed out that fans would certainly love to see more of him, Lee Junho responded with a shy smile and a sweet “terima kasih (thank you)”, drawing an affectionate reaction from the room.

The session then took a playful turn with a round of What’s in the Box, where Lee Junho was challenged to identify three mystery items using only his sense of touch. Despite the crowd’s attempts to surprise him, he remained remarkably calm and fearless as he reached into each box.
His first correct guess was Hepi, CUCKOO Malaysia’s adorable mascot plushie. He even revealed that he already had one waiting for him in his hotel room. The second mystery item was a rambutan. Although he appeared familiar with the fruit, he struggled to identify it by name. Having never tried rambutan before, he made sure to request some to be sent to him after the event, giving himself the perfect opportunity to discover another Malaysian favourite.
The final box contained none other than teh tarik, one of Malaysia’s most beloved drinks. Lee Junho correctly guessed that the mystery item was a beverage before getting to taste it on the spot. His verdict? Teh tarik was right up his alley, with the star declaring that it was “his style”.
Adding another special touch to the afternoon, five lucky attendees were selected to receive exclusive gifts from Lee Junho and CUCKOO. Their lucky draw opportunity was determined by special stickers hidden on the greeting cards included in each attendee’s event kit, making the surprise all the more exciting for those who received them.

The media session concluded with a group photo featuring Lee Junho and CUCKOO Malaysia’s leadership team, including CEO KC Hoe and his wife, Mak Foong Ling, CMO Queenie Goh, COO Toh Seng Lee and CFO Bryan Yeong. It was a fitting end to an intimate session that offered the media a glimpse into the person behind the global ambassador title.
CUCKOOTOPIA Pop-Up Event: A Special Reunion with Malaysian Fans
The celebrations continued with the much-anticipated CUCKOOTOPIA Pop-Up Event, where Lee Junho took to the stage to greet the public and reconnect with his Malaysian fans. Making his first return to Malaysia in three years, he expressed his happiness at being back and shared a few warm words with the crowd.

The fan interaction began with a selection of questions submitted through sticky notes on a question board, giving fans the opportunity to hear Lee Junho’s thoughts on a variety of topics.
One particularly creative question asked whether Lee Junho’s soothing voice could be incorporated into CUCKOO’s home appliances to make everyday household routines a little more enjoyable. His response was both witty and imaginative. Lee Junho suggested lending his voice to a rice cooker, and he even demonstrated a voice alert announcing, “Your rice is ready!” in both Korean and English.
He also seemed open to the possibility, noting that recording such voice functions would not be too difficult. To the delight of fans, he even jokingly promised to make it happen with a cheerful “janji (promise)”!
Another question brought the conversation back to one of Malaysia’s favourite topics: food. Asked what local dishes he had tried since arriving, Lee Junho happily shared that he had enjoyed nasi lemak with ayam goreng (fried chicken) as well as roti tisu. His answers once again showcased the special place Malaysian food holds in the hearts of both locals and visitors.

Following the lively fan interaction, the spotlight shifted to CUCKOO’s upcoming festive offerings as Lee Junho officially launched CUCKOO Chinese New Year Lifestyle Hampers. Designed to bring together thoughtful gifting and practical home innovations, the collection features three distinctive hampers.
In a particularly meaningful moment, Lee Junho became the first recipient of the newly launched hampers, receiving the collection as a gift directly from CEO KC Hoe as CUCKOO’s representative. He then joined the CUCKOO Malaysia team for an official photo session to commemorate the launch.

The event also offered a closer look at CUCKOO’s latest home innovations, with Lee Junho taking the opportunity to introduce the brand’s new product lineup. He also left his autograph on the newly launched CUCKOO QUBE Table Top Dishwasher, adding a personal touch to the product showcase.
To wrap up the celebration, 20 lucky winners were given the opportunity to take 1:1 photographs with Lee Junho. The excitement was evident as fans stepped forward for their special moment with the star, many leaving with wide smiles and memories to treasure.
With that, CUCKOOTOPIA came to a successful close, marking another milestone in CUCKOO Malaysia’s 12-year journey. More than just an anniversary celebration, the collaboration with Lee Junho highlights the brand’s continued commitment to making healthy living more accessible through innovative lifestyle solutions. With the star serving as its Global Brand Ambassador, we hope CUCKOO is able to inspire more Malaysians to embrace healthier habits and incorporate well-being into their everyday live.
