[SINGAPORE] iKON Creates A Beautiful Love Scenario at CONTINUE Tour

Making a total of three comebacks this year, the seven-piece idol group, iKON, comprising members JayYunhyeong, Bobby, B.I, DK, Ju-ne and Chan, proved their massive popularity both in South Korea and overseas with numerous music show wins and sold-out arenas during their tour. Their music has proved to not only be appealing to the general public, but also to elementary school students as their hit track ‘Love Scenario’ is currently the most popular song among them. iKON made a powerful return to Singapore after 2 years since their last concert here and proved that once they are on stage, it is showtime.

The concert kicked off with ‘Bling Bling’ and the audience was extremely hyped, waving their KONBATs forming a beautiful red ocean. Continuing with ‘Sinosijak’ and ‘Rhythm Ta’, the septet moved around the main and extended stage for iKONICs to have a good look at them.

Moving on to elaborate on what they have done during their time in Singapore, Jay mentioned that they were very excited once more to eat crab in Singapore and Song could empathise with why chilli crab is popular among tourists. Unfortunately, Bobby said that he did not like seafood and thus could not relate to the rest of them. While B.I mentioned that the time that they have in Singapore was very short and expressed his desire to visit the Merlion Park and Sentosa Island, DK said it would be great if they could come to Singapore often. The boys conversed fluently and comfortably in English without the aid of a translator, which was a relief for all iKONICs.

While it was a pity that iKON could not visit Sentosa Island, they brought on a tropical song ‘Cocktail’ that revolved around the theme of having fun and relaxing. It was obvious that the boys were enjoying on stage which was a joy to see. As Bobby and B.I took the stage to talk to iKONICs, the vocal team headed backstage to prepare for the next stage, ‘Perfect’. Following which was a series of special stages with Bobby’s ‘Tendae’ and B.I’s ‘One and Only’. As Bobby and B.I continued with ‘Anthem’, the rest of the members joined them once again and raised the roof once again with their title track from the first of the NEW KIDS trilogy series, ‘B-Day’.

The boys took a short break before returning with a sweet melody, ‘My Type’, as fans swooned to the lyrics of the song. The next segment of the song was the part where all iKONICs were looking forward to, where iKON presented their title tracks released this year. Kicking it off with ‘Rubber Band’, the crowd screamed for more as they moved on to ‘Love Scenario’ and their latest addition just released in October, ‘Goodbye Road’. After the melancholic melody which described wishing a lover all the best after a sad break-up, iKON proved their versatility with ‘Killing Me’, an angsty song describing the pain and torturous feeling of going through a break-up. Nonetheless, it was a touching sight as iKONICs sang along with iKON, which was a testament to how iKONICs are always in support and will love various genres of music released by iKON.

Before encore, iKON left fans with ‘Freedom’, a rock song which had everyone on their feet. While waiting for iKON to appear once again for encore, fans prepared a colourful ocean and sang acapella to ‘Don’t Forget’. iKON made an appearance for the last time with ‘Just For You’, a song written and composed by leader B.I for their beloved fans. Reciprocating the love received from iKON, iKONICs raised a banner saying ‘We Will Protect iKON’, which caught the eye of Bobby who brought it up to the rest of the members, to which Jay immediately said that iKON would protect iKONICs instead.

As they continued to take the encore stage with ‘Love Scenario’ and ‘Don’t Let Me Know’, Bobby asked for fans to put their phones and cameras down so that everyone could enjoy the last few moments together instead of being fixated on recording, and if fans agreed, they would stay on longer. The promise was kept as iKON remained energetic and had lots of fun as if they were at a party with iKONICs, wrapping up with ‘Dumb & Dumber’ and ‘B-Day’. As they left for the night, all iKONICs have left to remember are the thrills of listening to their favourite boy group’s songs live, the clean raps and accurately hit notes executed, and the amazing show put up by iKON.

We would like to thank UnUsUal Entertainment for the media invite to the concert and iKON for the splendid showmanship 🙂
