[SINGAPORE] Fans attend a glitzy affair at StarHub Night of Stars

It was a star-studded night on 22 December at Marina Bay Sands with some of the biggest regional acts coming together to attend the StarHub Night of Stars awards ceremony. K-Pop acts A.C.E, Cosmic Girls and Jeong Sewoon and Korean actor Lee Joon Gi represented Korea at the awards ceremony and graced the stage with exciting performances.

Before the awards ceremony, a red carpet event was held just outside the Sands Theatre. The number of people gathered for the event was so great the designated area for fans was not enough and the crowd spilled over to the other floors. Many fans could be seen holding slogans and banners to catch the attention of their favourite celebrities. Some were even armed with professional cameras in order to capture their idols looking picture-perfect in all their red carpet glory! The celebrities certainly did not hold back with their fan-service, posing and waving to their cheering fans. Lee Joon Gi even took the time to walk and pose every few seconds so everyone could have a good photo of him!

The awards ceremony started off with a VCR from StarHub thanking viewers for their unwavering support with a promise for a better StarHub TV in the future.

Up-and-coming boy group A.C.E wowed the crowd with their flashy moves to electronic dance tracks ‘Cactus’ and ‘Take Me Higher’ and garnered loud cheers from the crowd. Jun, Donghun, Wow, Kim Byeongkwan and Chan took home the 2018 StarHub Best Newcomer Award for the night and Jun almost teared up while giving his thank-you speech!

Produce 101 alumnus Jeong Sewoon was awarded the 2018 StarHub Best Asian Drama OST for his contribution to the original soundtrack of the popular drama What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?. He serenaded the crowd with his honey vocals as he performed ‘It’s You’, the song for the original soundtrack, as well as his debut single ‘Just U’.

The winners of the 2018 StarHub Most Charismatic Performance Award Cosmic Girls showed everyone exactly why they deserved the award with their fantastic performance to their dream-like hit singles ‘Secret’ and ‘Save Me, Save You’. The fan chants to ‘Save Me, Save You’ were exceptionally loud and Seola, Bona, Exy, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Yeoreum, Dayoung and Yeonjung showed off tight and precise choreography despite the sheer amount of members. Although the Chinese members Xuanyi, Meiqi and Cheng Xiao were unable to attend this event due to conflicting schedules, the girls gave their thank-you speech in near-perfect Mandarin!

Viewers can catch the premiere of StarHub Night of Stars on Hub VV Drama (StarHub TV Channel 855) on 13 January 2019, 7pm. The show will also be made available on Hub E City (StarHub TV Channel 111/825) on 19 January 2019, 8:45pm and 4 February 2019, 4:30pm.
