[PHILIPPINES] Cha Eun Woo Brings Fans Into His World at ‘Mystery Elevator’ Fan Con in Manila

Cha Eun Woo successfully held his solo fan concert Just One 10 Minute: [Mystery Elevator] in Manila last March 16, 2024 at the Mall of Asia Arena. This was the idol-turned-actor’s third to the country since the pandemic.

Eun Woo kicked off the show with a cover of Lee Hyori’s 10 Minutes followed by performances of Fu*king Great Time and Stay which are tracks off of his latest EP, Entity

After his opening number, the “face genius” sat down with the host, Kring Kim, and was asked about the meaning of Mystery Elevator. Eun Woo explained that “it’s an amazing device to bring you and me wherever we want”. And true enough, the concert transported his fans to Cha Eun Woo’s world and let them get to know him better.

Eun Woo’s Concept Store

The Mystery Elevator’s first stop was at Eun Woo’s Concept Store where Eun Woo had to “shop” around the store and each item he chose had a corresponding question to answer.

For the first item, he chose a cat headband and gloves which Eun Woo sported cutely and posed for the fans. When asked if there is anything he recently wants to bring about to his fans, he responded that he was really happy that his new drama Wonderful World is receiving attention and lots of people are watching it.

For the second item, he chose a crown which is fitting for the prince that he is. He was then asked to say “How should I put it…?” (in Korean: 뭐랄까 / mwolalkka), a phrase he often used during his appearance at Lee Hyo Ri’s Red Carpet, in different versions — cute, sexy, affectionate, chic and serious.

For the final item, Eun Woo sported his iconic Hanlim Multi Art School uniform and red cap which he wore during his pre-debut appearance in the show Golden Bell Challenge. Eun Woo still looks dashing in it, but definitely more handsome and manlier now compared to his boyish looks then.

He was then tasked to draw something for Arohas (fandom name for his group ASTRO) on a whiteboard within 10 seconds. Eunwoo sweetly wrote “Aroha I Love U from Eun Woo”.

Electric Performances

The idol surprised fans with a lovely cover of Backstreet Boys’ hit song As Long As You Love Me followed by his solo song First Love. He also performed his K-drama OSTs like Jealousy, Love Sailing, and Love So Fine

Eunwoo did not forget about Arohas in the audience as he performed a medley of their hit songs Crazy Sexy Cool, Knock, and Candy Sugar Pop.

‘Cha Cha’ Studio 215F

At the 215th floor, the Mystery Elevator landed at the Cha Cha Studio where three lucky fans who met certain criteria — 1) a noona, 2) has curly hair, and 3) a male fan — got the chance to pose with Eun Woo on the split screen.

The first one posed with Eun Woo with their palms against each other’s. The next fan got to do a wink pose with the actor. The last and probably  the most memorable one was the male Aroha who played rock paper scissors with Eunwoo but pulled out a finger heart instead of the usual choices. This caught Eun Woo off-guard and he was pleasantly surprised and eventually did a heart pose together with the fan.

Constellation Observatory

The last stop for the Mystery Elevator is at the observatory deck where Eun Woo and his fans get to see constellations which Eun Woo himself “discovered” at each stop of his fan concert tour. The screen showed a sky full of constellations he created in South Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand. For the Manila stop, he drew the “P” constellation.

“Thank you because you were the first to sing me a Happy Birthday”

It was definitely a lovely night for both Eun Woo and his Filipino fans and they seemed like they couldn’t get enough of each other as the crowd chanted “Walang uuwi!” (No one wants to go home!) to which Eun Woo responded, “There’s an encore stage.”

Fan projects were also prepared lovingly by his Filipino Fans. They wished the actor a happy birthday who will be turning 27 years old on March 30. A video fan project was also played for Eun Woo which showed his fans love and devotion towards him. He then proceeded to take a photo with fans to commemorate this special night.

Eun Woo sang Love So Fine for his encore stage as he walked around the stage and interacted with fans one last time. He said, “Magkita ulit tayo!” (Let’s meet again!) and “Mami-miss ko kayo!” (I will miss you, guys!) as he bid farewell.

The Seoul Story would like to thank PULP Live World for inviting us to the show.
