[MALAYSIA] STAR-STUDDED LINE-UP SWARM KUALA LUMPUR WITH ‘9 WAVE MUSIC FESTIVAL’

The ‘9 Wave Music Festival’ in Kuala Lumpur took place at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon on November 11, 2023, as music enthusiasts gather to witness a star-studded line-up of international K-Pop superstars such as (G)I-DLE, Henry Lau, EXO’s XIUMIN, Girls’ Generation’s HYOYEON, iKON’s Bobby and SHAUN. This highly anticipated concert promise a thrilling experience for festival-goers as organized by Nine Xtraw.

A Star-Studded Line-Up: Artists Ready to Rock the Stage

iKON Bobby started with an amazing rap performance that set a high standard for the rest of the night. He started off with powerful songs like U MAD and Hercules! before moving on to more rhythmic and smooth songs like Holup! and Tendae. He then performed emotionally wrecking songs like Firework and Swim, followed by an upbeat song called Break It Down. He ended his set with an intense song called Heart BROKEN PlayBoy, which exhilarated the audience.

After a short prayer break, the show continued with the next performer, Shaun. He attempted to speak in Malay by expressing his happiness about returning to Malaysia. His setlist included contemplative and lively songs, with Lunisolar and Shooting Star creating a dreamy atmosphere while Answer and Don’t Let Me Know bring melancholy vibes. Shaun demonstrated his versatility with upbeat tracks like So Right and Closed Ending and the lively rhythm of Traveler along with Bad Habits. His segment ended with a sing-along of his Billboard-hit song Way Back Home and promised to return to Malaysia soon.

Henry Lau continued to light the night with the haunting Korean hit track Trap, followed by the calming Summer Sky, and showcased his singing ability in Radio and Monster, alongside Just Be Me. His stage presence was a standout as he demonstrated his musical talent by playing the violin, piano, and guitar and using unusual instruments like trash bin and metal drums to perform his own version of Believer. He interacted with fans in multiple languages, showing his worldwide popularity. His emotional rendition of It’s You led into the soulful Moonlight, leaving the crowd mesmerized.

The wave of excitement continued as Hyoyeon from Girls’ Generation took the stage and delivered five electrifying performances. Hyoyeon managed to captivate the audience with her powerful showmanship. Her signature dance moves mesmerized the fans as she started with the visually stunning Picture and followed up with the intense Deep. Second brought a fierce energy, and Dessert was a crowd-pleaser with its catchy beat. She ended her segment with the vibrant Sober, showcasing her versatility as a performer.

Xiumin from EXO came to Malaysia for the first time as a soloist and captivated his fans with his powerful performance, starting with the energetic Brand New and showcasing his soothing vocals in Serenity. He then performed the emotional Love Letter followed by the lively Daisy. He added a touch of nostalgia with Feedback before continuing with the inspiring Beyond, displaying his versatility as a solo artist. Xiumin expressed his excitement to see his fans again after five years since EXO’s last concert in Malaysia. He also sang a brief snippet of EXO Don’t Go to tease EXO-Ls before concluding his segment with Mention.

(G)I-DLE, consisting of Soyeon, Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi and Shuhua, was the final performer of the night. They started off with their hit song QUEENCARD, creating an exciting atmosphere. The members’ multilingual greetings showed their connection with the audience. They expressed their gratitude for their fans’ enthusiasm at the end of a fantastic night as the audience sang and chanted along to all their songs, showcasing their status as a trendy group. The girls continued the night with back-to-back hits with Nxde, Pop/Stars, My Bag and Tomboy, showing their unique style. (G)I-DLE concludes its performance with Never Stop Me, making it a joyful one. They promised to return and deliver even greater performances for their fans.

The night was truly amazing as it was filled with all-rounded performers and a heartwarming reunion with everyone’s favorite artists.
