[MALAYSIA] Cha Eun Woo’s Timeless Love for AROHAs

Kuala Lumpur was the last stop for ASTRO member Cha Eun Woo‘s <Just One 10 Minutes> Fan Meeting last Sunday. 1,900 AROHAs (the ASTRO fandom name) attended the fan-meeting which was held at Dewan Wawasan, Menara PGRM at 6P.M. The fan-meeting name comes from the idea of being captivated by Cha Eun Woo’s charm within only 10 minutes. Singer and actor Cha Eun Woo showed he is more than just a face genius as he managed to unleash his witty and talented side to AROHAs that night.

A Princely Presence

Cha Eun Woo brought AROHAs to the Joseon era dressing in a traditional Hanbok. This was a nod to his character Prince Lee Rim from his recent historical drama titled “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung”. He captivated AROHAs from the first performance with his own OST track titled “Remember You”.

The first segment introduced was called “CHApago” which had the same concept as KBS’s Star Golden Bell Challenge as it was Cha Eun Woo’s first TV appearance pre-debut. He had to answer several questions including if he remembered his line in back then in the famous KBS program and the six nicknames given to him by a magazine!

He recalled how Felix was his English nickname when attending an English academy and the name means good fortune. Cha Eun Woo even followed the emcee, saying “Tembak je lah (just randomly choose it)” as he couldn’t recall some of the answers!

Epitome of Perfection

The next segment C.M.I (which means “Cha Eun Woo Much Information”) was to give AROHAs the chance to know more regarding this singer-actor. The first question started off with what item does the Face Genius hold while sleeping and he got a bit cheesy by saying he held AROHA’s heart to sleep – though the answer is actually his smartphone. Eun Woo shared that he frequently opens YouTube and a music player application the most which led him to share his favourite song recently, which is Pinocchio’s “Between Friends and Lovers”.

Cha Eun Woo also shared that he would like to try more student roles but is also willing to try the action genre too for his next acting project – stating that he sees himself as a member of ASTRO and an actor for the next 10 years. He did some research on Malaysia and thinks blue suits our country as the sky is pretty – which led him to giving Malaysian’s AROHAs the nickname of Sky. Right after, Eun Woo played the piano for his own cover of Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself.

An Unexpected Surprise for AROHAs

The third segment which is CHA!possible was a mission dedicated for Eun Woo to accomplish on his own. It started with a basketball session, dance relay and archery. AROHAs could be seen giggling over his cuteness as he wore a rabbit headband with hand gloves while dancing to ASTRO’s songs. Eun Woo managed to show his witty side as he chanted ASTRO member names for good luck during the archery session – in which he gained 9/10 for the highest point.

Eun Woo took AROHAs by surprise with a rendition of Malaysian singer Aizat Amdan’s “Sampai Ke Hari Tua“. This was the highlight for the whole night for AROHA Sky as his Malay pronunciation was very clear. He claimed that he personally chose this song as he thought of AROHAs that will come to the fan-meeting. His performance was even acknowledged by the original singer on Twitter – which shows he did a create a buzz on that night!

Definitely AROHA’s #1 Pride

Being the full-package he is, Eun Woo unleashed his artistic side as he used to win art competitions during elementary school. For the Made By Cha Eun Woo segment, he drew over two traditional hand fans to be given to lucky AROHAs. The first fan portrayed his own face with his autograph while the second fan came with a drawing of the blue sky which represents Malaysian AROHAs and he personally added a third hand fan for an extra lucky AROHA, with a drawing of him surrounded by purple stars with music notes, which inspired by AROHAs fan-chant and the purple ocean lightstick.

Throughout the drawing session, he managed to catch some Malaysian phrases in Malay and Chinese such as “Sayang, Terima Kasih! (Darling, Thank You!)”, “Wo Ai Ni (I Love You)” and “Sayang, Aku Cinta Padamu! (Darling, I Love You!)” which reflects on how a fast learner he is! The last stage was supposed to be his OST for My ID is Gangnam Beauty titled “Rainbow Falling” but then he returned with ASTRO’s “You & Me” as encore!

As an ending ment, he spoke very thoughtful words to AROHAs especially on how he practiced his performances in between his drama filming schedules, and apologized for some mistakes and hoped to continue improving – promising Malaysian AROHAs to return to Malaysia with a whole complete of ASTRO members in the future!

The fan-meeting really showed the bond between the singer-actor and his fans as both gave their fullest to enjoy and create beautiful memories together! We hope that AROHAs were living their best day throughout the fan meeting and anticipate ASTRO’s proper concert in Malaysia next time!
