[INDONESIA] Taecyeon Impresses Indonesian Hottests with His ‘SpecialTY’ Fanmeet in Jakarta

After eight long years, Ok Taecyeon has finally made his way back to Indonesia for his ‘SpecialTY’ fanmeeting in Jakarta, which was held at The Kasablanka Hall on October 21.

Since his last visit to Indonesia with fellow 2PM members for their concert back in 2015, Taecyeon has grown into a versatile idol-actor and has served fans with numerous solo performances and impressive acting projects.

Taecyeon opened up the night of his fan meeting by performing 2PM’s Magic and his solo song titled Anyway. He then proceeded to greet the fans by saying that Jakarta is not the only thing that is hot, but Indonesian Hottests are also very “panas“, referring to the fans’ explosive reactions.

Following his magical performances, it was time for the fan meet’s first segment called TYMI TYTIME where Taecyeon shared updates about himself. He asked fans to decide on which topic he should talk about first between the two keywords of “Taecyeon” and “2PM”. When the fans cheered louder for 2PM, he jokingly complained, “This is my fan meeting.” However, being the nice guy that he is, Taecyeon decided to follow the fans’ wishes and chose 2PM as the first keyword.

Taecyeon also had to answer some questions related to the keywords. For each correct answer, he would grant one wish from the fans as a reward, so fans enthusiastically helped him answer all the questions. The wishes included getting hugs and free selfies with Taecyeon. When the time came for him to grant the lucky fans’ wishes, Taecyeon made sure that no seat was a bad one by going down the stage to personally greet the fans within a closer distance and granted their requests.

The next segment was called MomenT MemorY. During this part of the fanmeet, Taecyeon took a trip down memory lane by sharing behind the scenes photos and episodes from the filming of his latest drama, Heartbeat (2023). He also performed Vampire, which is the OST of the drama. The surprise didn’t stop there, as Taecyeon did a cover of Indonesian song Hati-Hati di Jalan by Tulus and gained praise not only for his angelic voice but also for his nearly perfect pronunciation.

As Jakarta was the last stop for his Asia fanmeeting tour, Taecyeon prepared some special presents at during the Special ThankYou segment, or as he called it, the “Special Terima Kasih” segment. The presents given out were varied, ranging from a customized reusable cup, t-shirt, and more free selfies to a bottle of coffee all personally made and done by Taecyeon. He also spared some time to celebrate the birthdays of three lucky fans who had their birthdays on the same day as the fan meet by inviting them on the stage and making their wishes come true.

After continuously showing his generous side to his fans, it became time for Indonesian Hottests to repay Taecyeon’s genuine love by surprising him with fanmade video project. It was filled with clips of his journey as an entertainer, with a special message at the end of the video. Afterwards, Taecyeon expressed his gratitude, saying that seeing the fans gave him the strength to achieve his goal as an actor and a member of 2PM.

“You guys are the reason why I do what I do, being an entertainer, and I’m here to entertain you guys. So, thank you so much. Terima kasih,” he shared.

However, the night was far from over as Taecyeon continued the performance section with his live renditions of Toc Toc Toc, Champagne, Promise (I’ll Be), and Jump. Taecyeon managed to keep the tension high until the very end by performing the iconic Hands Up by 2PM to end the night, getting everyone to put their hands up and enjoy the last bits of the show.

“Last but not least, thank you for coming tonight. I’ll be back very soon. And this was Taecyeon from 2PM. Thank you!” said Taecyeon as his final goodbye.

We could definitely feel Taecyeon’s genuine love for Hottests throughout the show. We look forward to seeing him again soon!
