[INDONESIA] Live Concert & Live Podcast Session with Eric Nam at “Before We Begin” in Jakarta

After releasing his first English album, “Before We Begin”, earlier last year, the multi-talented singer-songwriter-emcee Eric Nam kicked off his beautiful journey in 2020 with “Before We Begin World Tour”.

Visiting several cities in Asia, Eric came back to Jakarta with high anticipation and successfully performed to Indonesian Nam Nation through a two-hour live concert that also felt like a live podcast event for the host of I Think You’re Dope and K-Pop Daebak podcasts.

The Energetic Song

Eric has his own way of pumping up excitement of the audience with his stage presence. He constantly asked the audience to sing along or jump together for some part of certain songs. With hit songs like “Runaway”, “Honestly”, “Potion”, “Can’t Help Myself”, and “You Sexy I’m Sexy”, he successfully made the audience want to dance along and sing to his songs.

The Slow Jam Song

Other than being good at creating exciting stages, Eric also nailed slow jam songs well. The audience couldn’t help but sing along at the top of their lungs to some song lyrics on his best masterpieces like “Good For You”, “This Is Not A Love Song’, “Wonder”, and “Love Die Young”. Nam Nation who attended the concert were just as good when singing along with Eric to his series of mellow songs. Eric also told the story behind some of his relatable song lyrics like “How’m I doing” which is about a man who worries if he’s doing okay in the relationship.

The Sharing Session

Claiming himself as a talker who babbles a lot on many random topics, he said that the thing about his concert is that he’d talk more than he’d sing and asked the audience if they were fine with it. Since most of the audience actually listen to his podcasts, they responded excitedly and even asked Eric to talk more.

Eric told the story about his mom whom he claimed to be a typical Asian mom who is rarely satisfied with her children’s achievements. He also told the audience about how he actually admired a lot of Indonesian singers like Rich Brian, Agnez Mo, and Raisa.

Other than providing short but meaningful live podcast sessions, Eric also made the concert that night feel intimate and close. He signed an album a fan brought and joked about the way she screamed at him asking to sign it.

He sang a birthday song to everyone in the venue who celebrated their birthday. He took funny gifts from fans like a ring balloon with “Eric, will you be my wife” written on it, a fan with his silly face on it, and a T-shirt with glittery “Mas Eric Nam” (brother Eric Nam/ Eric Nam oppa) on the front. Eric also acknowledged the banner project made by Indonesian Nam Nation and took a picture with it. These small gestures of fan-service made the night felt unforgettable and fun.

We would like to thank Onion Production for the media invitation and we can’t wait to see more cool artists in the future!
