[INDONESIA] An Unforgettable Party At Super Show 9: Road in Jakarta

Veteran group Super Junior proved their never-ending popularity at Super Show 9: Road in Jakarta! Through their best discography, Lee Teuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun took ELFs on an adventure on September 17. Let’s take a peek at the unforgettable moments with Super Junior!

A Charismatic Stage

Despite the hot weather greeting fans at International Exhibition Center (ICE) BSD, it did not dampen the enthusiasm of Indonesian ELFs who came to witness Super Show 9: Road in Jakarta.

This marks Super Junior’s first concert in Indonesia after their last show Super Show 8: Infinite Time in 2020. Super Junior kicked off the concert with an energetic song, Burn The Stage. The screams from fans echoed when the eight members appeared in charming princely clothes, and wow-ed the crowd with their years of stage presence and charisma!

The energetic atmosphere continued through other songs such as The Crow and 2YA2YAO. Not stopping there, Super Junior members began to approach the center stage and performed Mr. Simple, Ticky Tocky and Paradox.

Intimate Show

After performing various upbeat songs, Super Junior took some time to officially greet fans. The atmosphere became more intimate as they started their casual chats and jokes with fans, proving their undying love for ELFs.

The members then introduced themselves with Indonesian names. Siwon introduced himself as Agung, Donghae as Dimas, and Lee Teuk as Kadir. Siwon also conversed with fans in Bahasa through his introduction.

“Halo, ini Agung. Agung sudah kembali. Aku selalu kangen kalian karena kalian ada di dalam hatiku.” This is translated to “Hello, this is Agung. Agung has returned. I always miss you, because you are in my heart.” ELFs sent their appreciation by giving their loudest cheers to Siwon for speaking in the Indonesian language, although in the end, he doubted whether the sentence and pronunciation were correct, by saying “Is it correct? I think it failed.”

Lee Teuk also teased fans several times, as he mentioned that ELFs had to go through a lot of trouble to come to the concert venue. “You have to get up early, go a long way here, also it takes a lot of time to enter inside the venue, and one thing is even sadder, the day after tomorrow you guys have to go to work,” which of course drew laughter from fans.

Ryeowook added on to the intimate moment by singing Terlanjur Mencinta, which was popularised by Indonesian singer, Tiara Andini.

Stunning Stage Act

The 17-year-old veteran group with such loyal fans showed their stunning performances on stage with versatile stage acts. Starting from energetic bops such as Mango and Party House that showcased their dance skills, to the gentle yet powerful vocal sub-unit line K.R.Y. represented by Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung through their ballad song, I Can’t.

Adding to the concert hype, Super Junior provided comical skits through SPY, Mamacita, and Rokkugo song series, which was arranged in an opera version which successfully entertained the crowd!

As the atmosphere was getting hotter, Siwon unbuttoned his shirt and showed his perfect six-pack abs which earned roaring applause from ELFs. Lee Teuk also took time to run on stage showing off his athletic body.

The concert came to a close with a series of encore songs More Days with You, Walkin‘, and Happiness which were sung together with Indonesian ELFs. Not wanting to end the day, the members walked around the stage to greet fans and captured special moments with fans through their phones.

At the end of the concert, the members gave spoilers that they would return to Indonesia shortly. With this impromptu announcement, fans cheered loudly as they could not wait to meet Super Junior again!
