[MALAYSIA] JOY Made A Big Splash At Her First Solo Concert In Malaysia

Singer, actor and Red Velvet member JOY made her first solo visit to Malaysia as part of her 2026 Joy Asia Tour “JOY SPLASH” held at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, April 25, 2026. After making stops in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur marked the final stop of the entire tour.

This was JOY’s first time appearing as a soloist in Kuala Lumpur, following the footsteps of members IRENE & SEULGI who made their visit last September for the BALANCE World Tour, as well as WENDY’s W:EALIVE tour last December.

Opening the show with Hello, JOY expressed her excitement at finally meeting Malaysian ReVeluvs (Red Velvet’s fandom name) in person. As this marked the final stop of the tour, she promised to give her best and hoped fans would cheer her on.

She continued with Je T’aime and La Vie En Bleu, before moving into an OST medley sung by her featuring Introduce Me a Good Person (Hospital Playlist), My Lips Like Warm Coffee (The Last 10 Years OST), as well as Yeowooya and Shiny Boy from The Liar and His Lover.

The show then moved into the first segment, Love Splash Moment, where JOY read two heartfelt letters from fans on stage. The first shared their anxieties about the future, but how they found comfort in her solo release even attending every stop of the tour. The second fan expressed how they fell in love with JOY’s bright green hair from her debut music video with Red Velvet.

Both letters reflected the deep love fans have for JOY, and she returned the sentiment with a cover of Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You by George Benson. She shared that she especially resonated with the song’s second verse, adding that the love from her fans continues to guide her forward in her career as both an actress and a singer.

The second segment opened with JOY performing Get Up And Dance backed up by dancers, a special stage where the choreography was made specifically for this tour. This was followed up by a fan interactive segment called Joy’s Worry Box. Here, she responded to notes written by fans before the concert, and she replied by writing messages on locks that were then passed back to the chosen fans. There were definitely some highlights made during this segment, such as seeing her dance to Ice Cream Cake in 2026 accompanied by the fans singalong, as well as recreating the iconic JOY fanboy cheer.

The third and final segment commenced with an interactive game corner titled Joy Island. Some of the games included JOY dancing to Red Flavor, Feel My Rhythm, and Peek-a-Boo, as well as a drawing game where fans guess her unique drawings. The main set continued with her singing Unwritten Page, before ending it with Love Splash.

The encore stage started with JOY singing Day By Day and Happy Birthday to You. During her final ment, she expressed her concern as she commenced this tour right after she wrapped up shooting for her upcoming drama. She was unsure if it’s possible to switch from Park Soo-young the actor and become JOY the singer, but seeing the fans cheering for her made her feel like it’s the right choice to do this tour. She once again thanked the fans for their support.

Before leaving the stage, JOY wrapped up the night with Scent of Green. As a surprise for fans, she performed solo versions of Zimzalabim and You Better Know upon request, before returning with Hello for a heartfelt finale.

JOY indeed brought happiness, joy and comfort to the ReVeluvs in attendance throughout the 2-hour concert.. We hope to see her again in Malaysia, whether as a soloist or with her Red Velvet members.

The Seoul Story would like to thank Zues Event for the media invite.
