[MALAYSIA] Jang Dong Woo Forms A ‘CONNECTION’ With Fans At Solo Fan-Concert

Multitalented performer and member of INFINITE, Jang Dong Woo, returned to Malaysia for the first time as a soloist for the JANG DONG WOO FAN-CON TOUR <CONNECTION> IN KUALA LUMPUR held at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on Friday, August 15, 2025! Having visited Malaysia multiple times as part of INFINITE, and with his last visit here was as recent as February this year, Malaysian Inspirit (INFINITE’s fandom name) was delighted to see Jang Dong Woo include Malaysia as one of the stops for the fan-concert tour.

Jang Dong Woo: Certified Foodie

Jang Dong Woo opened the concert with feel good tracks TGIF and ROMEO, seemingly hinting that the fans will have a good time at the fan-concert. Noting that it’s about 6 months since his last visit as part of INFINITE and being his first time here as a soloist, he promised to do his best throughout the fan-concert.

The first segment of the fan-concert was Ddoddo-stagram, where Jang Dong Woo documented updates of what he did before the fan-concert and shared it with the fans. One consistent theme that was evident throughout this segment was food, and Jang Dong Woo was not shy to gush about the meals that he had, whether it’s the satay he had in the plane on the way to Malaysia, as well as foods that he had during his stay so far such as butter prawn and even local fruits like durian and mangosteen. It definitely felt like the fans were talking to Jang Dong Woo directly, as they helped correct his pronunciation for some of the dishes. He then performed News and Gun, showcasing a more vulnerable side of him with the cool and angsty tone of the respective tracks.

Getting Interactive With The Fans

A special part of the fan-concert was when Jang Dong Woo premiered an unreleased track that will be part of his upcoming comeback in November, complete with proper choreography. He mentioned that this track will be a B-side release and he was considering between Checkmate and Tick Tack Toe as the title for the track. Some of the fans here also suggested Game’s Over for the title, so he will take it into consideration. He then performed Party Girl before moving to the next and final segment of the fan-concert.

The second segment of the fan-concert was called 2025 JDW Awards In ‘Connection’. This was essentially a balance game, where the fans will choose between two choices of a series of questions related to Jang Dong Woo. The questions vary from favourite Korean food, his current earworm (Golden by HUNTR/X, unsurprisingly), as well as his most confident side. After the beautiful chaos of a segment, the final winners of the segment were rewarded with a signed poster.

Jang Dong Woo then performed his version of KISS OF LIFE Natty‘s Sugarcoat, and aespa Karina‘s UP, showing his sharp dance moves and peppered his own twist to the performance, before ending the segment with Something Between.

Grateful For Each Other’s Support

The fans chanted for Jang Dong Woo to “come back again”, and sure enough, he returned for an encore performance with Perfect. As the fan-concert slowly reached its finale, Jang Dong Woo took his time to thank all the parties involved in making the concert happen, especially the fans for their support.

The fans also conveyed their thanks in return by way of a surprise fan video and a banner event, which perfectly encapsulates the love and support they have for Jang Dong Woo. The fan-concert ended with him performing YOU, which was a perfect song to close out the wonderful moment.

True to the fan-concert title, the fans were definitely able to form a meaningful ‘connection’ with Jang Dong Woo as he charmed us with his multitalented persona. We will anticipate his return to Malaysia next year as he said, whether as a soloist or as part of INFINITE.
