[INDONESIA] Slipping Into a Dreamlike Reverie with Baekhyun in Jakarta

It had not been that long since Baekhyun visited Jakarta, but Indonesian EXO-Ls still welcomed him with enthusiasm and love like no other. The vocalist returned for the 2025 BAEKHYUN WORLD TOUR (Reverie) in JAKARTA on August 16th, treating every attendee to a joyful time filled with his delightful vocals, exceptional dance skills, and jolly personality. It is fair to say that we really did not want to wake up from this reverie.

Baekhyun, the Pro-Idol

Being in the industry for 13 years, Baekhyun’s skills as an idol are beyond doubt. From the moment he set foot on stage, the energy he exuded was palpable. Young was the first song he performed, showcasing the vocals that made him one of EXO‘s main vocalists. His synergy with the dancers was also well presented right from the start, making the show truly pleasant to enjoy.

The parade of top-notch performances continued beautifully. Baekhyun took the chance to sing tracks from his newest album, Essence of Reverie, for the first time in the country. From showing his bubbly persona in Black Dreams and belting high notes effortlessly in Lemonade to showing off groovy dance moves in Elevator—he did it all! The idol did not forget to also include the jewels from his older albums like Bambi, Candy, and Betcha. Baekhyun even brought Psycho to the stage, a song he previously performed during EXO’s concert. He made sure the show could represent all eras of him, and we think that’s beautiful.

Keeping the Audience Engaged

Aside from being a total pro at entertaining, Baekhyun also knows how to actively engage with his fans. Throughout the concert, EXO-Ls were given several tasks by Baekhyun himself to make the show even more fun and meaningful. During the first ment, the singer told EXO-Ls to sing along if they knew the songs he was performing—which was taken very seriously by the fans. The concert hall turned into a giant karaoke room as Baekhyun sang some fan favorite tracks like UN Village and Good Morning. “You guys are so good at singing and doing fan chants! Did you practice doing it? I’m so touched.”

After succeeding in the first mission, Baekhyun asked the fans to raise their light sticks during Garden In The Air. The singer, who also had one light stick in his hand, led the movement as he sang exquisitely on stage. Thousands of light sticks moved in unison, creating such a beautiful sight to remember.

In addition, before performing Love Comes Back, Baekhyun requested for everyone to dance and feel the rhythm like they usually do at home. Unlike the previous missions, EXO-Ls did not comply with this request—which earned a playful complaint from the requestor. “Why didn’t you guys dance? You can’t dance? Oh… you don’t feel confident?” he asked, and the audience replied with laughter. We are just not as good at dancing as you, Baekhyun!

Heart-to-Heart Conversation

“It’s fun to play with me, right?” Baekhyun playfully asked between the performances. He shared that the name Reverie is used for this tour because he wanted to give the audience such a beautiful time that it would feel like a dream. While his goal was a total success, it also seemed like he received the energy back from all the EXO-Ls present. Baekhyun expressed that, because of his fans, he could stay energetic throughout the night. “Terima kasih!” (Thank you!), he exclaimed while wiggling his hands like a flying bird.

The singer had worked his hardest to prepare for the concert, so he truly hoped fans would remember this moment for a long time. Baekhyun revealed that he felt most comfortable when he was on stage, surrounded by fans who gave him warm love and comfort, and he was very thankful for it.

Back to his usual quirky self, when the fans chanted the signature “Gak mau pulang maunya digoyang~” (Don’t want to go home, just want to dance~), Baekhyun countered with, “I don’t want to go home either!” Much to everyone’s dismay, the concert had to end—but hopefully we can meet again in the future.

Thank you for the excellent show, Baekhyun! And thank you iMe Indonesia for having us!
