The casts from the legendary South Korean variety show Running Man returns to Malaysia after 8 long years as part of their RUN 2 U fanmeet tour! The ensemble consisting of Yu Jae Seok, Jee Seok Jin, Kim Jong Kook, Song Ji Hyo, HaHa and Yang Se Chan had a great time with over 5,000 fans for their fanmeet held in Mines International Exhibition And Convention Centre (MIECC) on February 15, 2025!
The fanmeet started off with the members performing Spring Day by BTS, before having their formal introduction to the fans. This was Yu Jae Seok and Yang Se Chan’s first time in Malaysia as Running Man members, they were equally as excited to be finally here in Malaysia with the fans!
It’s not a Running Man fanmeet unless they played the games played in the show, and the members delivered by playing Who Is Potman, where the members split into pairs and take turns attacking and defending with pot lids and foam sticks. The fans were able to witness the shenanigans of the members as they tried to outsmart each other. One lucky fan even gets the chance to play the game with the members!
The next game they played is a relay cosplay game, where the members split into two teams and dress in funny costumes as quickly as possible and perform tasks such as photo time with the audience and stamping fans’ hands. These interactions with the fans continue in the next segment, where the best fans that cosplay each member are invited to the stage and receive personalized gifts from each member!
The fun continues as each member performs their respective solo stages! Song Ji Hyo started off with her cover of BIBI’s Bam Yang Gang, followed by Yang Se Chan dressed as Freddie Mercury slaying his cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, while HaHa heats up the stage with his cover of aespa’s Whiplash. Jee Seok Jin showcases his vocals as he performed John Legend’s All of Me and Kim Jong Kook sings his original song, One Man. Yu Jae Seok completes the roster as he performs his trot persona YooSanSeul’s Redevelopment of Love.
Various unit stages were showcased as well, as Se Chan and HaHa performed Dang Diggi Bang, Ji Hyo and Jong Kook sang a romantic duet which was definitely a crowd pleaser, and Seok Jin, Se Chan and Ji Hyo covering SSAK3’s Beach Again. To top it all off, Jae Seok and Jong Kook covered Rosé and Bruno Mars’ Apt., which they then revealed was their first time performing the song!
The members were then presented with a fan video prepared by the Malaysian fans expressing their support towards the Running Man members, and the fans also prepared a cake to celebrate Jee Seok Jin’s birthday! The members then expressed their gratitude to the fans for their love and support, and promised to come back to Malaysia again soon! The members then delivered a high-energy finale which included a medley of hits like DAY6’s Time of Our Lives, Kim Jong Kook’s Lovely, and Busan Vacance, while interacting closely with the fans.
The 3-hour fanmeet went by like a breeze as the fans had so much fun with the Running Man members after waiting for 8 years, and we look forward to their future visits to Malaysia!
