[PHILIPPINES] South Korean singer-songwriter Choi Youngjae returns to Manila! 

Choi Youngjae started in the industry back in 2014 as part of the group GOT7. This internationally-acclaimed group is known for their hit songs Just Right, Hard Carry, and Girls, Girls, Girls. After seven years with JYP Entertainment, Youngjae signed with Sublime Entertainment where he debuted solo with his album, COLORS for Ars. That was followed by Sugar, which was released last June 22, 2022.

This multi-talented artist is not just a singer, but also an actor. He starred in Love & Wish, a drama based on a webtoon and Midnight Sun, wherein he played the lead role.

The main vocalist of the Korean boy group GOT7 is the first ever member to visit Manila for a solo fanmeet and mini concert last July 23, 2022 at the New Frontier Theater.

Mini Concert

Youngjae started off his mini concert with his songs, Tasty, and Focus from his past two albums. After his performance, he had the opportunity to thank all the fans who came to his mini concert and fanmeet. He said that he prepared well and couldn’t wait to meet his Filipino fans again. “I was sick recently. After my radio show, I would go practice,” he added.

First Segment: Kwentuhan with Youngjae

Youngjae arrived a day before his scheduled concert and fanmeet in Manila. He said that the last time he was here with the other members for their Keep Spinning Tour, he didn’t have leisure time as he and the other GOT7 members would just stay in the hotel. This time around, he was able to swim and he even got to try Jollibee which he found delicious! He tried the fried chicken, spaghetti, and peach mango pie. 

After the kamustahan, a lucky fan won a signed poster with her name! She won through a lucky sticker under her seat. 

Second Segment: Guess the Song Game

Starting off the second segment, Youngjae had to guess the songs that were played. A total of 3 songs were played including Wait for You by Elliott Yamin, who is one of Youngjae’s favorite singers.

Third Segment: Yes or No Quiz

This was an exceptional segment. The fans on the ground floor were all asked to stand up and answer the Q&A questions by answering O (Yes) or X (No). The last fan standing won a signed poster from Youngjae! 

After taking a short break, Youngjae came back on stage to perform his solo tracks, VIBIN and SUGAR. The singer was asked if he would return to Manila after the mini-concert and fan sign event, he responded, “I look forward to doing many things with Filipino Ahgases. I promise to go back here more often.”

Youngjae ended his first mini concert in Manila by singing his solo track, Crema and GOT7’s NANANA and Girls Girls Girls. He even came down the stage and interacted with the Filipino Ahgases!

Fansign Event

On that same day, Youngjae met his fans through the Sugar Fansign in Manila. Lucky fans were given a chance to talk to Youngjae for one minute while he signed on their albums. Other fans who attended also had the chance to have a group photo, a selfie photo, and a special goodbye session wherein they got to say bye to Youngjae face-to-face!

To cap it all off, Youngjae’s first solo event here in the Philippines was a success! This showed how much he loves his Filipino fans and how much his Filipino fans love him!
