[SINGAPORE] More Than Just ‘WILD KARD(s)’ For KARD At Their Showcase Tour

It isn’t everyday that you get to bask in the glory of a co-ed group that has is all – be it the visuals, vocals or the dancing. KARD kicked off their first Asia tour – ‘WILD KARD TOUR’ in Singapore on the 21st of January. Like their tour name suggests, the group should not be underestimated as the underdogs are wild cards in the industry, overwhelming the crowd with their astonishing artistry and teamwork.

As Somin, Jiwoo, BM and J.seph took their places on stage, the crowd spurred for them and erupted in cheers. Starting the night off with ‘Into You’, we were mesmerised by their spectacular good looks and stupendous talents. The group surely sets the bar high for everyone else; their vocals were not short-changed despite the song’s dynamic dance moves. Following up with other hit tunes such as “Don’t Recall” and ‘Rumor’, the fans can’t help but pay their fullest attention to the quintet.

To take a breather from the performances, the segment ‘Ask KARD’ emerged as the group answered questions from fans that were written on post-it notes.

A question from the post-it asked the members to do a short cover of Sunmi’s ‘Gashina’, and the girls told the fans that it was one of J.seph‘s current favorite songs. One thing led to another, and both boys of the group spoiled the fans with their own dance cover of the song, which gave us ripples of ecstasy.

When asked about each other’s favorite food, Somin began to chant the word ‘Ddeokbokki’ (spicy rice cake), while BM chose a more localised dish, the Chili Crab. One of the fans asked them who cries the most in KARD, and J.seph ranked the members accordingly; the 1st was Somin, followed by BM, then Jiwoo and he was the last. He even blessed the crowd with his re-enactment of the other members crying, leaving them with heaps of laughter!

As the year has barely started, KARD expressed their goals for the year 2018. “We want to emerge on music charts and win our first #1 on a music show!” BM exclaimed. With all that passion and heart, we’re definitely rooting for their dreams to come true! The quintet is also under the midst of preparing for their new album, which will galvanize their fans just like their other tunes.

Singapore was in luck that night, as the four-piece group decided to prepare solo stages for the very first time.

Kicking start this pristine segment, Jiwoo surprised the crowd with her own rendition of WINNER’s ‘REALLY REALLY’, which is a familiar song to those that were present. As the crowd sang along with her, Jiwoo owned the song and interacted with the fans. Despite it being her first ever solo stage on tour, we believe that she is a natural-born performer.

As the heat from the last performance was not subsided, J.seph had huge shoes to fill. However, he rapped a self-composed song and captured the attention of both the fangirls and boys; a true lyricist who can move anyone’s heart!

Next up was Somin, who delighted the crowd with her cover of Taeyeon’s ‘Fine’. Although the song required high-standards of technique and skill, she delivered it with expertise and grace. “This is the first time I am performing a solo stage and it feels a little weird without my members. Although I did not perform perfectly, I gained courage from you guys, so thank you!” she pronounced, as her bright smile assured the fans.

Last but not least, BM unleashed his skill with ‘Living Good’ part 2, the sequel to the original ‘Living Good’. The term “go hard or go home” encapsulated the moment; as his rap verses and immense avidity for music touched the hearts of his fans.

Coming back to stage as one, the group once again ushered the heat with Bruno Mars’ ‘24K Magic’ and Ariana Grande’sSide to Side’; unleashing the hip-hop in them. Despite the songs being in English, the quintet did not see it as a weakness, and recited the song with perfect pronunciation.

As the fervor topped the roof, KARD performed ‘Push & Pull’, followed by iconic title songs ‘Oh Na Na’ and ‘Hola Hola’!

The concert was about to come to an end, and the co-ed group performed their last song of the night, ‘Living Good’ before drawing the curtain call. It was a fantastic concert filled with ardor and love, and the crowd that night will surely remember that concert for life!
