[UPCOMING EVENT] The First ‘Follow Gyeonggi K-Culture FESTA 2019’ to be Held in Indonesia

2019 is a special year for both ASEAN and South Korea as it marks 30 years of their relationship. 

Indonesia as one of ASEAN countries with the largest population, is also a country full of diversity. In recent years, Indonesia has shown a huge interest in Korea’s music, culture and tourism. It has prompted the government of Gyeonggi Province to choose Indonesia as the first country to hold ‘Follow Gyeonggi K-Culture FESTA 2019’. 

While most are aware Seoul is the capital city of South Korea, not everyone knows Gyeonggi is the province surrounding Seoul. It is the most populous province in South Korea, with Suwon City as the provincial capital. ‘Follow Gyeonggi K-Culture Festa 2019’ which is fully supported by Gyeonggi Provincial Government, aims to promote Gyeonggi’s culture and tourism.

This grand festival will be held on 19-20 October 2019 at Istora Senayan Jakarta. Numerous Korean tour and travel companies will take part in giving helpful tips on traveling to the 31 cities in Gyeonggi Province. There will also be many interesting activities during the event, such as an exclusive workshop with reputable dance studio 1Million and also a K-Pop cover song and dance competition. 

The most awaited part for Indonesian K-Pop fans is undoubtedly the ‘K-Pop Concert‘ which will also be held for two days. JBJ95, Kim Jong Kook, Epik High, DIA, VAV, Baek A Yeon, GWSN, 1Million and Akdong Musician will entertain the audience on October 19th. For the second day, the line-up consists of Taemin, RGP (Haha & Skull), Hwang Chi Yeul, Lovelyz, The Rose, Yellow Bee, 1Million and Apink. The organisers hope a lot of visitors will come and enjoy various activities.

“We want to exhibit various Korean cultures to Indonesian citizen, as well as show the beauty of Gyeonggi as the centre of Korean culture. To attract visitors to this festival, we also bring Korean top artists,” said Lee Dong Ryoul from Gyeonggi Tourism Organization.

• Platinum: IDR 1,800,000 (1 day pass) or IDR 3,000,000 (2 day pass)
• Gold: IDR 1,500,000 (1 day pass) or IDR 2,500,000 (2 day pass)
• Silver: IDR 700,000 (1 day pass) or IDR 1,200,000 (2 day pass)
