Beautiful fairy, Lee Sungkyung is about to spread some joy and ‘swaaaaaaag’ among her Filipino fans this July!
Multi-talented actress, model, and artist Lee Sungkyung will finally be visiting her Filo supporters for the Manila leg of her “Be Joyful” fan meeting tour. It will be Sungkyung’s first up-close encounter with her Filipino fans after the actress rose to fame with her adorably endearing and totally relatable character in romantic-comedy drama, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, which was highly- and well-received by Korean drama lovers in the country.
Sungkyung started her career in the entertainment industry as one of the models under YG K+, a model management company and subsidiary of YG Entertainment. In 2014, she became the first model under the label to venture into acting as she starred in Korean drama, It’s Okay, That’s Love, where she played the role of a fierce-but-actually-soft high school student Oh So-nyeo, the love interest of actor Lee Kwang Soo in the drama.
Acting projects continued coming Sungkyung’s way, as she played supporting roles in other various dramas such as Flower of Queen, Cheese in the Trap, and The Doctors. It was until the later part of 2016 when the actress got her first major break, as she was casted for the lead role of hit K-Drama, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, along side her fellow model, Nam Joo-hyuk.
Aside from modeling and acting, the undeniably charming fairy from Korea is also known for her musical talent. Sungkyung was able to showcase her singing talent in the 2018 fantasy drama, About Time, where she played the role of a musical actress.
She then eventually booked her big screen lead role debut this year with well-acclaimed film, Girl Cops, where she starred with renowned actress, Ra Mi Ran.
