[UPCOMING EVENT] Karpos Live Presents: george + youra Live in Manila

Two of South Korea’s rising artists are heading to the Philippines on October 17!

Here to bring you more of South Korea’s indie music scene, Karpos Live introduces its first joint show of the year, featuring george + youra.

They might be sharing a stage together, but allow us to give them each of their own well-earned intros: 

george (Lee Dong Min), may be familiar with the Filipino crowd after recently performing at Wanderland 2023: The Comeback. After finding his home under the label CRAFT AND JUN, george classifies himself as a “do-it-yourself” kind of artist, pursuing his career with utmost love and care to the craft and proudly taking charge of his own sound, style, and lyrics. This tender supervision to his music can be heard by completely immersing to the tunes of his introductory single I am George (2016), the bouncy beat of his insatiable song Boat (2017), and the youthfully sultry new album FRR (2023).

Aside from his notable solo releases, this hip-gop/R&B artist is also well decorated in the collaboration department, sporting an array of musical features in various tracks with different and unique artists such as Cosmic Boy, pH-1, Luna, and of course, youra.

youra (Kim Yu Ra) likes to be perceived as an enigma, never really sticking to a certain genre to box her talent in. First appearing on a hit Korean reality singing competition in 2019, the ethereal singer and songwriter has elevated her musical style since then. She once dabbled in dream pop for her song My (2019), and dipped her toes to a more experimental sound for L, released in the same year. Additionally, she also has fast paced pop under her belt with New Direction (2020), and a multi-layered masterpiece with the song Rawww (2021).  youra, like george, also released her debut album this year, aptly titled (1).

Dive deep in the sweet sweet blend of these two brilliant and one-of-kind artists for a night that will surely be one for the books.
