[SINGAPORE] ZEROBASEONE’s ‘HERE&NOW’ Concert is Pure Joybait

ZEROBASEONE is back and better than ever. Riding on the momentum of their debut concert last September, the WAKEONE boy group returned to the Singapore Indoor Stadium on November 15 as part of their second world tour ‘HERE&NOW’, proving their sustained popularity among tough touring competitors.

While last year’s tour still paid much homage to their Boys Planet roots and had them performing many songs from the survival show, this tour is ZB1’s chance to show the world how their own discography has matured.

The evening was launched with ICONIK, the group’s latest title track, a funk-infused dance track that fits the galactical theme of the tour. The muted and sultry Lovesick Game had the boys performing choreography on chairs and Ricky pouring red wine over his arm for an alluring picture. The group must have hustled hard in the last year because half of this tour’s setlist is made up of these new 2025 releases, but of course, they did not leave out classics like In Bloom, CRUSH, SWEAT, and New Kidz on the Block

The stage set this year was rather unassuming compared to last year’s show, which, to us, speaks volumes about the boys’ blossomed confidence in their raw talent and skills. The conviction in their vocals and moves tells us that any nerves from the first tour have completely melted. With this newfound confidence also comes greater boldness, it seems — they were only on their fourth song, GOOD SO BAD, when Gunwook and Jiwoong discarded their leather racer jackets, baring sets of sturdy biceps. “I did it for the loud screams,” Gunwook teased.

There was never a boring moment throughout the concert because of the boys’ chaotic antics. While Jiwoong, Taerae, Zhang Hao, and Ricky went backstage to prepare for their sub-unit performance of Long Way Back, Hanbin, Yujin, Gyuvin, Gunwook, and Matthew continued to entertain fans by learning TikTok dance challenges on the spot. When it was the quintet’s turn to go backstage, the Long Way Back team comically demonstrated their self-made choreography for the soulful ballad track (which really just involved dramatically sinking onto their knees, striking their chests, and slithering on the floor).

Yujin had taken his university entrance exam in Seoul the day before the concert, yet ZB1’s youngest member was powering through the three-hour setlist as if he hadn’t just flown into Singapore still wearing his school uniform. Apparently, he was thinking about how to satisfy Singapore fans even during his exam. ZB1 certainly mirrored this dedication: to make each stop of their tour unique, the group prepared a local song for every city visited. For Singapore, it was Twilight by homegrown Mandopop star JJ Lin, which they performed as part of the encore.

With ZEROBASEONE’s contract expirations looming over their heads, it felt like the members themselves were savouring every moment of the show, from the fond gazes exchanged throughout I Know You Know to the hugs during Goosebumps. Gyuvin said that fans’ smiles helped him gain the strength to work another year. “I just had this thought when I was looking at you guys: that I am so grateful,” Canadian member Matthew said in English. “This is such an amazing space where all these amazing people — you guys — came here and enjoyed our music.”

Surprisingly, a handful of the members’ relatives were present in the audience that evening, including Jiwoong’s older brother, who was hilariously made to stand up and shout an ‘I love you’ to fans. “We look so alike that people sometimes mistake me for my brother,” Jiwoong shared.

Leader Hanbin talked about feeling proud when he saw ZB1’s ‘Timeless World’ concert poster from the previous year on display backstage and being heartened that fans have reciprocated the energy that the members have invested into the tour. “I want to promise that we will continue to repay your love.” In adorable Singlish, Yujin added: “Stay with us long long hor.”
