It has been almost 21 months since Ahgases saw Yugyeom in the flesh. The last time the main dancer and maknae of GOT7 was in town, he was part of the line up for AOMG’s tour. This time, he dominated the scene all alone as he brought his Trusty tour to Singapore and fans were treated to a spectacular display of his showmanship for two hours.
Yugyeom has been keeping himself busy since transitioning into a solo career under AOMG. Since then, he has released a total of four singles, one extended play and the latest addition to his discography as a soloist was a full-length album titled TRUST ME.
As Singapore was the opening act of the tour, Ahgases went into the show with no prior knowledge of the setlist. Apart from the hip hop and R&B vibes that AOMG boasts of, Yugyeom lived up to his name as the dancing machine and winner of Hit The Stage 2016. Using chairs as props, Yugyeom danced sensually to Take It Slow, leaving fans gasping for air.
While primarily known for his dance skills, Yugyeom shared through a few VCRs that he has always been finding ways to improve his vocals, as a singer ultimately must be able to sing well. Hard work paid off and he definitely did not disappoint as his honey-like voice was stable and clear. One of our favourite parts of the night was being able to groove to SHINE and LA SOL MI.
With a focus on performing, Yugyeom changed outfit only once to all-white, a stark contrast to his entry decked in all black. While he did a live poll to find out which was a more popular choice among fans, it was eventually concluded that no matter what he wears, Ahgases will always love it.
Perhaps the best part and most unforgettable moments of the concert were when Yugyeom dove into the crowd to get up close and personal with fans, and sang an unreleased track. Without forgetting his roots, the all-rounder also included his solo tracks from GOT7’s albums and performed GOT7’s 1+1 and the classic Hard Carry.
It was another unforgettable night for Ahgases and we cannot wait for what more Yugyeom has to bring. Thank you to Three Angles Production for the invite to the show!
