When it comes to the up-and-rising stars in the K-industry, it is hard to miss out Chung Ha’s name as one of the contenders. After finishing fourth in the first season of Produce 101, Chung Ha is not just one of the members of I.O.I, but has been embarking on a solid career to stardom since then. Gracing Singapore to meet her Byulharangs, Chungha held her first fan meeting in Singapore on 21st April 2019, promising a fun and magnificent time with her fans.
Many might know Chung Ha for her astounding dancing skills and honey-like vocals, but there is more to the female soloist than her talents. Starting the concert with her latest single from her newest comeback, the queen brought her shining presence onstage with “Gotta Go”, impressing her fans with her sensational talents. Hosted by Dee Kosh, the local YouTuber/DJ welcomed Chung Ha to Singapore with a warm greeting, and their synergy was more than “on point” for the rest of the night.
Starting with a couple of games that tested Chung Ha’s knowledge of Singapore, the star was able to get all the questions correct, as the Byulharangs off-stage indiscreetly told her the answers by shouting them to her. Chung Ha then commented that she was glad and thankful that the fans were telling her the answers to those questions, as it proved that she has a group of fans that “always got her back”.
The strong set-list continued into the night, as she performed various hits that included “Love U” and “Rollercoaster”. However, her dance covers of Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” and DJ Snake’s “Taki Taki” were the highlights of the fan meeting, leaving Byulharangs absolutely breathless.
During the “Call Me, Call Me Chung Ha” segment of the fan meeting, Dee Kosh and Chung Ha proved to us that they were a team to be reckoned with. As the segment required Chung Ha to dial the phone numbers of three lucky fans, one of the papers she picked from the lucky draw had the fan’s number written in small handwriting. Doing the detective work, both Dee Kosh and Chung Ha decoded the numbers, but accidentally called the wrong person and were redirected to an “old woman” instead. This situation caused Chung Ha and Dee Kosh to get flustered, and they both laughed it off in the end. We are positive that it’s one of the funniest moments of any fan meeting ever, and hence a unique moment that both Chung Ha and Byulharangs will never forget.
Dee Kosh then pointed out that there’s a video to be played before Chung Ha performed for one of the songs, then retracted the statement by saying that there wasn’t a video. Jokingly, Chung Ha called Dee Kosh a “bad MC”, causing him and the fans to go into fits of laughter. Through this fan meeting, we were able to get an insight into Chung Ha’s personality, where she is not only an extremely talented and skilled soloist, but a shining star that has a lot of wit and mischievousness as well.
At the end of the concert, the video that Singapore Byulharangs prepared for Chung Ha made her tear up, although she promised her fans that “she will not cry” previously. However, her tears are a testament to her love and thankfulness to Byulharangs, who are always supporting her on the sidelines.
Through the fan meeting, Byulharangs were not only able to watch Chung Ha’s glimmering presence on the stage, but also interact with the multi-talented queen that is not only humble but extremely special. Thanks to Dee Kosh and Chung Ha’s synergy throughout the concert, it was an invigorating fan meeting that would be etched in the minds of Singapore Byulharangs for a long time.
We would like to say a big thank you to Three Angles Production for allowing us to document the entertaining night spent with Chung Ha and Byulharangs!
