[SINGAPORE] Seungri Attends All That Matters 2018 as CEO of YGX + Performs at Zouk for Liquid Nights

Lee Seungri, one out of the five members of world-renowned K-Pop group, BIG BANG, made his way down to Singapore for the annual All That Matters conference earlier this month. He represented YG Entertainment as an artiste, and YGX as the CEO at the conference, where a discussion was held regarding Electronic Dance Music (EDM) in China. As a DJ, Seungri’s experience proved valuable at the panel discussion. Of course, he also created unforgettable memories with fans at night when he showcased his skills as a DJ.

Working together with Alan Walker
The panel discussion regarding EDM in China was moderated by Lars Brandle; with Gunnar Greve, Alan Walker, Li Andrew and CORSAK as the speakers.

YGX is a subsidiary company of YG Entertainment, where Seungri is the CEO. Seungri’s DJ label, Natural High Records (NHR) has also been working with Liquid State, a company focusing on the EDM genre. Seungri says that Alan Walker sends him some tracks from time to time, after which Seungri will sing over the tracks. He then sends the tracks back to Alan, who will then edit everything. Everyone couldn’t help but to laugh when Seungri said that he sounds like a different person after listening to the edited tracks, albeit nicer-sounding.

Spreading the word about EDM
He commented about how the EDM market in Europe is booming but that it is just starting in Asia. His first collaboration with Alan for the release of “Ignite” under Liquid State’s label was his first step towards spreading awareness of the EDM genre in Asia. The existence of fandoms in Asia makes a big difference, he said, and Seungri thinks that leveraging on that will certainly get more people to listen to more electronic dance music.

DJ Seungri is in the house!
Seungri kicked off his set with BIG BANG’s “Fantastic Baby”, which had the crowd going wild. Focused on the turntable, the man had everyone at Zouk in a frenzy as they danced their hearts out! The moment G-Dragon’s “Crooked” was played, everyone started to sing along as Seungri created his own beats on the spot.

The other songs that Seungri played for fans at the venue were BIG BANG”s “BAE BAE” and “BANG BANG BANG”, iKON’s “Love Scenario”, BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and his very own “WHERE R U FROM”.

There was no doubt that fans were enthused from the start till the end, as they rocked out to every single song on the set list without a care in the world!

In the middle of all the fun and laughter, Seungri promised to come back to Singapore for a solo tour, and also a concert as five with the other members of BIG BANG! We are certainly looking forward to that moment!
