[SINGAPORE] NCT 127 Charms 9,000 Strong Crowd at Singapore Indoor Stadium

After a long time, large-scale concerts are finally back in Singapore! When it was announced that Singapore was included at the last leg of NCT 127‘s NCT 127 2ND TOUR ‘NEO CITY : SINGAPORE – THE LINK tour, fans were utterly excited. Currently, the active members in NCT127 are Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan. NCTzens rushed to make sure that they got the tickets they wanted on that very special day. The last time NCT 127 came to Singapore was before the pandemic in 2019, which was why many were vying for tickets in order to be able to see their favourite boy group. Unfortunately, a few days before the concert, Yuta tested positive for COVID-19. This incident shattered the hearts of those who have been wanting to see Yuta. Nevertheless, the rest of NCT127 constantly had Yuta in their minds throughout the entire show, and showed fans that they all missed having him perform with them.

NCT127 Performs Hit Songs

NCT 127 kicked off the stage with the ever so powerful Kick It, which had everyone raising their lightsticks and screaming along to the lyrics. After years of not seeing the group in the flesh, NCTzens in Singapore were looking forward to seeing NCT127 perform their hit songs that they could only watch on the screens so far. Some of the other songs performed were Lemonade, the English version of Highway to Heaven, Favorite, Cherry Bomb and Sticker.

The sea of lights in the audience was a glorious sight to behold, as it had been so long since a huge concert was held in Singapore. One of the most anticipated performances of the night was that of Love On the Floor, which had the members dance on a sloped stage prop. The stadium was filled with screams of disbelief from everyone as the song played and all the NCT 127 members were seen leaning against a slope. It got even louder as the boys got even wilder, thrusting their hips to the beat of the song.

Solo Songs Galore

Another highlight from the show has got to be the solo performances showcased on that day. Taeil went first with Another World, followed by Mark with Vibration. Taeyong took the stage after him with Moonlight, and Jungwoo channelled Michael Jackson’s spirit during his Lipstick solo. Johnny’s solo during Focus was particularly memorable, as sexiness oozed from every pore on his body. Everyone in the either had their jaws on the floor while trying to recover from the shock, or were screaming their heads off with every move Johnny took.

Jaehyun’s solo of Lost had him lying on a huge bed on stage, his soulful voice penetrating the hearts of everyone alike. Doyoung then came along with The Reason Why It’s Favorite, his velvety voice texture living on in everyone’s minds till now.

Taeyong’s Birthday Surprise

During the talk session, everything came to a standstill when Taeyong took control of the mic. Everyone in the stadium then started to sing a birthday song for Taeyong. He was grateful to fans and told everyone to look forward to NCT 127’s next album! That had everyone going into a frenzy at the thought of the group potentially making a comeback soon. Will there be the long-anticipated comeback everyone has found out about?

It was lovely to see the lightsticks in the indoor stadium all lit up and waving along to the beat. Taeyong looked grateful and has heart eyes throughout the entire event. Shortly after, NCT 127 had to perform their last few songs before bidding goodbye to NCTzens in the stadium.

It was an afternoon of fun and laughter and we look forward to seeing NCT 127 on our sunny island once again!
