[SINGAPORE] MXM Hypes Up The Crowd With Never-Ending Charms At ‘MATCH UP’ Fan-meeting

Last Friday, Im Youngmin and Kim Donghyun of MXM graced Singapore to meet fans at their first ever fan-meeting here. It was a night full of fun and laughter, and fans who attended were delighted to see the boys perform in the flesh. After Wanna One and JBJ, dedicated fans of Produce 101 Season Two could finally get to experience an amazing show by another talented group of boys from the reality show.

MXM captures fans’ hearts with their hit songs
Donghyun and Youngmin’s voices complemented each other throughout the show, especially when they sang songs which required harmonisation. As a duo, the spark between them ignited the atmosphere in the large hall, as fans held up their light sticks and sang along to the songs. The crowd was attentive and enthusiastic at the same time, while watching Youngmin and Donghyun liven up the stage. Some of the songs they performed were “Perfectly Perfect”, “Being Objective” and “Errday“.

MXM’s performance of their latest title track “Gone Cold”, took everyone’s breath away with its decidedly different genre; a smooth and melodic ballad perfect for a listen on a cool rainy day.

During the talk, both Youngmin and Donghyun chatted to the host a little about their feelings regarding being able to finally perform in Singapore. Donghyun said that ever since the both of them landed in Singapore a few days prior, they had been warmly welcomed by fans. The duo were of the same mind as well, that Singapore is a nice and clean place!

Playing games with lucky fans
Fans were brought up on stage to play games with the duo. The first game is called “Pictionary”, where fans had to figure out what either Youngmin or Donghyun, drew on their sketchbooks. Fortunately for them, Donghyun and Youngmin were adept at drawing! The winner in Youngmin’s team walked away with a skillfully etched drawing of a rose while the winner in Donghyun’s team won herself a symbolic sketch of a diamond. Both drawings were personally autographed by the artistes themselves!

The next game played was “Actionary”, where fans have to figure out the exact scenario or object that the duo have to act out. Donghyun and Youngmin elicited laughter from the audience as they attempted to get the fans onstage to figure out their actions! There were times where the audience screamed out the answers in order to help the fans who were up on the stage with MXM. Everyone was having too much fun playing, regardless of whether they were in the audience, or on the stage with MXM. It was said that the lucky winners who had the most correct guesses would win a mystery prize, and it turns out that they received a polaroid photo of themselves with an MXM member each. What a lovely surprise!

Fans want to be by MXM’s side for a long time…
An even lovelier surprise would be the fan-made video that Singapore fans had created specially for Youngmin and Donghyun. They were surprised, saying that they were so grateful to have the fans’ love and support. Not only that, but the boys of MXM also hoped that the fans will love and support them for a very long time too! Fans had their banners raised during the entire video. The banner promises that fans will stay with MXM forever.

Donghyun and Youngmin were so excited that they decided to take a photo with everyone in the audience as they held up their banners! Another surprise which awaited MXM was a cake in the shape of their official logo, specially prepared for the both of them. They looked really pleased and excited when they saw the cake, which melted fans’ hearts.

The handsome and charming boys of MXM had been delightful and simply entertaining during their first ever fan-meeting in Singapore. We hope that Youngmin and Donghyun will be able to come again to our sunny little island for another concert! Thank you IME Singapore for the media accreditation! 🙂
