[SINGAPORE] MONSTA X Greets MONBEBEs at Outdoor Press Conference Despite Pouring Rain

Despite the drizzly weather, more than 1,000 Singapore MONBEBEs braced the rain in order to welcome the monstrous group, MONSTA X, at their public press conference at Plaza Singapura. Headlining the HSBC Women’s World Championship Music Festival 2018, the 7 member boy-group held their press conference on 2nd March, one day prior to their Special Show at Hard Rock Cafe.

A common name to many, MONSTA X is a trending group with a growing fanbase all over the world. As the crowd withstood the heavy rain, the screams heightened as the boys emerged from the mall, with guards sheltering them from the rain with umbrellas.

Donned in black suits, the mesmerising boys took their seats on stage, looking fine as ever. As fans took in the visuals of the members, the emcee kick started the press conference by interacting with the boys. When asked about a food that they’d like to try in Singapore, rapper Jooheon told the crowd that he would like to eat ‘Chili Crab’ with the other members, and I.M encouraged fans to try kimchi fried rice in Korea, as it is his favorite dish back home.

The emcee then asked: “If you were to go to a deserted island, which member would you bring?”. Minhyuk was I.M’s pick, as he explained that his hyung would have experience in the wild due to his stint in ‘Law of the Jungle in Chile’. Shownu chose his trusty and tidy friend, Kihyun, as he feels that he prefers to be with someone who is tidy and neat.

Every fangirl or fanboy’s’ dream is to be noticed by their idols, and we have a tip for those who want to be noticed by MONSTA X themselves! Kihyun suggested, “The best way to get our attention is with our lightstick!” Right after he said that, the group began to point at lucky fans who were waving their lightsticks ardently.

With a wide discography, the rising stars were asked to pick their favorite title track of theirs thus far. Shownu picked ‘Beautiful’, as he felt that the choreography and beats of the track fitted well. Wonho chose ‘DRAMARAMA’, as it was the song that got them their long awaited but very well deserved first win on a music show.

With many hit title songs that include the likes of ‘Stuck’, ‘Fighter’ and ‘Hero’, the boys are also known for their reality shows, ‘MONSTA X RAY’ and ‘MONSTA X RAY 2’. Showcasing their chemistry, cheekiness and acting skills in their own reality show, it was a platform for their fans to better understand their idols. Hence, Shownu told the crowd that he is hoping for a ‘MONSTA X RAY 3’, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed too!

As the press conference was soon coming to an end, MONBEBEs prepared a birthday song for Wonho, whose birthday fell a day earlier. Wearing a shy smile, his enthralling charm was precious enough to make the fans feel contented, and he thanked the crowd for singing him the song.

Wrapping up the press conference, Kihyun told the fans that they are working hard to prepare for their comeback and second world tour, and hopes to come back to Singapore again in the near future. We hope Singapore MONBEBEs will wait for the 7 member-group to return to our sunny island soon!
