[SINGAPORE] Let’s Go KAMPing!: Day 1 of Revolutionary K-Pop Music Festival Featuring a Star-studded Line-Up

Known as the first-ever K-Pop Music Festival to have ever landed on Singapore shores, KAMP Singapore 2019 ushered in a star-studded line-up for the first day of their show. Including the likes of AleXa, GFRIEND, NCT 127, Ha Sung Woon and Chungha, these artistes walked down the red carpet and performed for the night show that took place on 9th November at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

AleXa

Known as a “super rookie”, AleXa has definitely been on our radar for the past several weeks. Despite debuting merely less than a month ago, her debut song, “Bomb”, has already garnered a whopping 6 million views, which is a great milestone to achieve! During the red carpet, AleXa encouraged fans to put this song on their playlist, and we totally agree – the sick beats in the chorus makes us want to bop our heads to the song all day long.

Despite being a rookie, AleXa commanded the stadium with her exceptional talent and stage presence; as if she has been performing on stages for years. Performing MONSTA X’s “Dramarama” and B.A.P’s “Warrior” at the concert, AleXa pulled off the boy group choreographies effortlessly – her sharp and swift moves are to be applauded for! Do look out for AleXa in the future, if she is doing so incredibly as a rookie, we cannot wait to see her growth in the years to come.

Chung Ha

It has been seven months since the soloist landed in Singapore for her first-ever fan meeting, and KAMP Singapore 2019 marks Chung Ha’s second time in our country this year. Basking in the sunlight, the star was able to take a ‘wefie’ with the fans that were present at the red carpet.

At the concert, Chung Ha performed her various hits, such as “Snapping”, “Gotta Go”, “Why Don’t You Know” and “Roller Coaster”. However, at the end of her set, the queen caught the fans off-guard by performing a cover of “Bang Bang” – anyone who has ever watched the Produce 101 franchise would know how iconic this dance cover was in 2016; scratch that, it is still immensely iconic in 2019. Despite having performed several songs before the cover, Chung Ha’s vocals were clear and crisp, hitting the high note in the song remarkably. Teasing the fans with upcoming collaborations, the soloist is definitely booked and busy – we cannot wait for her to bring more to the table in the following months!

Ha Sung Woon

Known to be a little cloud fairy that needs to be protected, this is Ha Sung Woon’s first time in Singapore as a soloist. At the red carpet, the vocalist’s visuals were astonishing; he does look handsome in photos, but trust us, Ha Sung Woon looks even more handsome in real life!

Opening his set with “Bird”, the song perfectly encapsulates the soloist’s essence as a singer; his dreamy and distinct vocals were able to instantly fluff up the audience’s hearts! The song puts us in such a good mood, and it is extremely hard not to fall in love with him after watching his performances. Following through his set list with “Don’t Forget”, “Bluemaze” and “Blue”, the soloist was able to capture the attention of everyone in the audience with his natural charm and cuteness throughout his set.

GFRIEND

KAMP Singapore 2019 also marks GFRIEND’s second time in Singapore this year; the group was in our little red dot for their Asia tour in July. When the girls were walking down the red carpet, fans were starstruck at the beauty of the six girls; their visuals are absolutely stunning!

Slated to be the first to perform at the concert, GFRIEND started their set with “Fingertip”, and it was the perfect way to start the night! Following up with “Navillera” and “Vacation”, the group’s perfect synchronicity when dancing was evident; teamwork really makes the dreamwork! Singapore Buddies were even lucky enough to witness Yerin and Eunha’s “aegyo” – the two are extremely adorable! With the ballad version of “Rough”, the fans were able to hear the raw and sweet voices of GFRIEND, and the emotions in their vocals were clearly conveyed to the fans. With “Fever” and “Time for the Moon Night”, GFRIEND closed their set, leaving Buddies’ hearts full with satisfaction and love.

NCT 127

KAMP Singapore 2019 is also NCT 127’s second time in Singapore this year; the boy group was on our island in July for their world tour. Despite having seen the boys a few months ago, NCTzens were nothing short of fervent – their screams for the boys were the loudest at the red carpet, and the boys responded back by channelling their positive energy to the fans.

Starting off their set with “Fire Truck”, the boys definitely lifted the crowd to an all-time high! They proved once again that they are the biggest hits on the stage with a fan-favorite, “Cherry Bomb”, and the crowd went wild with the fan-chants; we are sure the boys were touched by their immense support! Although the choreographies of those earlier songs are not easy, NCT 127 were able to pull off the next songs with not only ease but charisma. With “Touch” and “Regular”, the boys continued to light up the crowd with their continuous bops, and the fans were energised by the great performances done by NCT 127. Ending the night off with “Superhuman”, the boys left a lasting impression on all the fans that were present that night.
