Lai Kuanlin may be young, but he exuded maturity and sincerity in his solo fanmeeting in Singapore. The eighteen year old Taiwanese native was in town for his first solo fanmeeting tour on April 30th. Fans were treated to a 90-minute showcase of Kuanlin’s rap and dance skills as well as his great fanservice.
The fanmeeting opened up with a cute VCR of Kuanlin dressing up and getting ready for a date with fans, before Kuanlin himself appeared on stage for his solo song ‘Hypey’. Fans were delighted to see him on stage in Singapore again since his previous visit in September last year as a Wanna One member.
Fans were able to know more about Kuanlin through the various corners throughout the fanmeeting. Kuanlin revealed several photographs that means a lot to him and explained the meaning of each photograph as they flashed on screen. This segment allowed fans to know more about their idol and the moments leading up to the final picture perfect moment.
In another segment, Kuanlin played some games and showed his playful side to the fans who cooed adorably over his antics. He demonstrated great fan-service at one point too! He promised to autograph fifteen plushies despite the original plans to sign and give away only seven. After discussions with the management, he autographed seven plushies and had the permission to give away the rest without an autograph. The winning fans were visibly touched when their seat numbers were called out, with several cheering loudly upon realizing they had won.
Kuanlin also performed several songs for his fans. From his unit song ‘I’m A Star’ — originally performed as a duo with PENTAGON Wooseok, to covers of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’, Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘Let You Go’ Kuanlin showed off a swaggy performance with great rap skills he has honed since his PRODUCE 101 Season 2 days.
Kuanlin was nothing but sincere throughout the entire fanmeeting. After a touching fan-project made specially for him by Singapore fans, Kuanlin gave an equally touching and sincere thank you back to the crowd. We certainly felt the emotions he was feeling through his pauses and shaky voice, and the fans were ever eager to cheer him on by saying encouraging words from time to time!
We hope to see Kuanlin back in Singapore again with even cooler performances and possibly a new image!
We would like to thank 411entertainment SG for the amazing evening spent with Lai Kuanlin and fans.
