[SINGAPORE] Kim You Jung Brings Love In The Moonlight To Fans

Prominent actress Kim You Jung arrived in Singapore for her highly anticipated ‘First Memory’ fan meeting, and graced the stage in a traditional hanbok singing ‘My Person’, an OST from the hit drama, ‘Love In The Moonlight’.

With such a great start to the show, fans were however quick to notice that You Jung had an arm cast, and showed faces of worry. “It’s just a small injury,” she asserted, “I’m fine enough to perform for you guys today!” To further reassure her fans, she also taught them a dance move requiring hand movements.

Looking elegant in her hanbok, she kicked off the event by telling the crowd her wish for 2017. “I want a driving license and get it within my first try,” she proclaimed. When the topic of Park Bo Gum was brought up, You Jung shared that he cheers her up quite a bit.  She shared: “The cast and I have a very pleasant friendship because we go out to eat, play, and rest together.”

Throughout the fan meeting, supporters had the chance to take polaroid photos with You Jung through a lucky draw. Another blessed fan had the honour of having a snack date with the actress, where they enjoyed Singapore food specialties such as Teh Tarik and Kaya Toast. The actress also recommended fans to try Hangwa (한과), best known as traditional Korean confectioneries.

Next up, You Jung returned on stage wearing a blue sequined dress and continued the show by singing a Chinese song titled ‘Ti Oh Oh’ (天黑黑), which is deemed as a famous tune amongst Singaporeans. “I practiced this song especially for my Singapore fans, and worked hard for it!” she exclaimed.

With thirteen years of acting experience, You Jung had been involved in numerous projects surrounding movies and dramas, and this fan meeting introduced us to how she felt about the different characters she portrayed.

The star went ahead to show the crowd a throwback picture of her in 2007, where she rocked a permed hairstyle. She confessed her desire to cut her hair short till her chin, but held back as she thought it would be shocking for her fans.

You Jung also told the crowd that her character in ‘Angry Mom’, Oh Ah Ran, is very much alike to her real personality. “Ah Ran is one who believes things that others do not believe in. When I’m around with friends that I trust, I tend to believe in things they say too.”

As the actress had recently clinched the ‘Female Popularity Award’ for Television Series at the 53^rd Baeksang Art Awards, she thanked her fans for their constant support, and strives to do better in the future.
