[SINGAPORE] Kang Daniel Wants To Colour Your Life!

After a gruelling six months of waiting, fans of Kang Daniel (currently known as No Names) were greeted with his solo debut album ‘Color on Me’. Proving the true power of ‘Kang Daniel’, the artiste has sold over 460,000 albums to date. In order to thank his fans, the talented artiste and CEO of Konnect Entertainment is currently embarking on an Asia Tour to meet his fans. Just last week, he kicked off his first-ever solo fan-meeting on our small sunny island, Singapore. Friends of the media were invited to his one and only press conference for this fan-meeting, where we managed to learn more about Kang Daniel.

Filling Up His Fan’s Hearts

The first thing Kang Daniel was asked about was his fans! The singer greeted his fans at the airport by exiting via the public area at Changi Airport Terminal 4. He stated he wanted to meet his fans hence he decided against using the VIP exit. Daniel was very overwhelmed and thankful for such a huge turnout of fans who went to welcome him despite arriving late at night. If that is not sweet enough, he even went up to a very lucky fan and high-fived her! He also mentioned he knew the video of him high-fiving the girl went viral on Twitter (Looks like the CEO checks up on his fans).

Reminiscing his days as a former member of WANNA ONE, the singer expressed that the stage definitely feels very empty and different despite having his backup dancers with him. Even though he has just started his journey as a solo artiste, he wants to reciprocate his fans fervent support and love. This could be the reason why Daniel actually participated in his album preparations and wrote the lyrics by himself when he could have easily sought the help of famous lyricists. Kang Daniel wanted to make sure that he could convey his heartfelt messages to his fans and make his first ever album special and meaningful. For his song, ‘I HOPE’, Kang Daniel chose his favourite lyrics as ‘I hope you smile’, because he thinks that his fans are the prettiest when they smile! (Aww~)

When asked on what record he would like to break next, the singer said that he is deeply touched and grateful by his fans unwavering support and would rather do something that the fans would want and like. He accredited his success to his fans because everything that he has achieved today is made possible by them and he would love to return the favour!

Colouring His Life

For Kang Daniel, ‘Color on Me’ is a new start for him to show more colours and sides of him to his fans moving forward. The singer stated that previously when he was in WANNA ONE, he was unable to showcase himself fully. Now that he is a solo artiste, he will take this opportunity to challenge himself and let his fans know more about the diversified and talented Kang Daniel.

The singer chose black as his representative colour because he loves the colour. We agree because he looked stunning when he donned a black suit for the press conference! He also shared that when all the colours are mixed, they eventually become black. Daniel also chose pink as the colour to represent his fans and expressed his wish to see his fans turning up in pink for his fan-meeting the following day. He definitely got his wish because ‘pink’, trended on Twitter that day and he was greeted with a beautiful pink ocean at the Singapore Indoor Stadium!

For future concepts, he hinted at wanting to try something dark and different. We are definitely looking forward to it!

Du…Durians?

Singapore may be an ideal destination for many tourists due to our beautiful skyline, iconic landmarks and amazing food!  Despite this being Kang Daniel’s fourth visit to Singapore, he has not been able to explore Singapore due to his busy schedules. Instead, he shared that the best memory for him in Singapore is actually the passionate fans! Daniel recalled that he can always count on his energetic fans to cheer him on enthusiastically whenever performed in Singapore. This time round, the singer hoped he would be able to find some time to explore what Singapore has to offer and asked for suggestions. The witty emcee replied, ‘Since Kang Daniel is the King of K-Pop, do you want to try the King of Fruits, durian?’ Daniel burst into laughter upon hearing it but readily accepted the challenge!
