[SINGAPORE] KAI Shows Why He’s Mr Rover At KAION Singapore

Fresh off his new comeback Wait On Me, KAI brought the highly anticipated KAION tour to Singapore on June 21st 2025. And the crowd was certainly ready for Kai as he returned for the first time after six years.

EXO was a group that accompanied my childhood (I distinctly remember watching their newest comebacks during recess with my friends), and this concert certainly brought back fond memories.

Here were three highlights of KAI’s show in Singapore!

1. An all-rounder idol

Despite being EXO’s main dancer, KAI has shown his vocal and rap prowess in his solo discography. The concert opened with Sinner and Mmmh, his stand out debut track that started a wave of dance challenges in the industry then.

This was followed by a series of tracks from his debut EP KAI, where KAI showed off his groovy dance moves and steady vocals. His choreography explored a variety of genres – from sensual, artistic moves that showed off his ballet roots in Nothing But Me to powerful dance moves that accompanied the R&B beats of Hello Stranger.

Fans of Street Women Fighter Season 2 were also in for a treat, as members of Team BEBE, Bada, Tatter and Lusher shared the stage with KAI. Bada, in particular, is best known for choreographing hit tracks like Rover, Wait On Me and Adult Swim. Alongside his chemistry with his dancers, KAI delivered a 2-hour setlist of hard-hitting dance tracks that left the crowd gasping and cheering.

2. A homage to EXO

EXOLs were also in for a treat as KAI danced to iconic EXO tracks Baby Don’t Cry and Angel. Fans filled up the song instrumentals with their voices, making the performance a perfect collaboration between KAI and EXOLs.

Earlier, KAI introduced that KAION was a combination of KAI and ION, derived from the Greek word AION (Eternity). This tour marked a new accomplishment in his solo career and a celebration of his artistic journey for the past 13 years.

“As KAION is a concert about me, I had to include the song that introduced me to the world.” He quipped, referring to his iconic debut teaser where he danced to Angel alongside the members.

“It seems like I’ve changed a lot right? Am I sexier now?” He joked.

The next section certainly proved so.

3. A special gift for Singapore EXOLs

The next section left EXOLs in awe as KAI showed up in a black leather outfit, with his abs on full display.

“I usually change up my outfit for the last section depending on the reaction of Aeris (EXOLs) and it seems that you guys really wanted to see a sexy side of me.” KAI explained to the delight of the crowd.

Starting with Confession, his solo track from EXO PLANET #5, KAI showed off his alluring moves. This was followed by crowd favourites like Domino and Reason. And no one could forget Rover, which elicited the loudest reactions of the night. Under the flashing strobe lights, Kai truly cemented his title as one of the best performers of K-POP.

“Which one of you introduced Kaya Toast to me yesterday? It’s so delicious that I couldn’t stop eating it! That’s why I had to go to the gym before this.” Throughout his ments, even from soundcheck, KAI showed his love for Singapore food. He even cheekily asked for ‘hidden gems’ (shoutout to the Singapore team who introduced him to our slang) and promised that he would have a good dinner after.

The future of Kai

“If this is your first time seeing me, I assure you it won’t be your last.” KAI’s performance left fans wanting more, and he shared that he would be back with his fellow EXO members.

A regular on many variety shows, including Jeongwaja (Changing majors), KAI also showed off his playful charm throughout his ments. “Look at all the videos you’ve taken of me tonight. Think to yourself, oh he was so handsome and pretty then, and I’ll be back before you know it!”

KAI certainly will leave us missing him, and we can’t wait for his next concert in Singapore! True to his words, I’ll be watching his fancams on repeat until then.
