[SINGAPORE] ITZY Are Untouchable At Their ‘Born To Be’ World Tour

Titled after their latest comeback album, ITZY brought their Born To Be World Tour to Singapore 15 months after their last visit to the sunny island. Cue a live band, solo stages and top stage visuals – ITZY took Singapore MIDZYs on an exhilarating 2.5 hour concert, proving that they are truly untouchable queens born for the stage.

Dominating the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the quartet (Lia was unable to take part in the world tour as she is on a hiatus due to health issues) performed to a 7,500-strong audience, a significant leap from last year when their Checkmate World Tour was held at The Star Theatre. With a much bigger arena, ITZY utilised the space with impressive stage set ups, especially for their solo stages.

ITZY kicked off the concert with a bang with Born To Be on an impressive stage set up. With the silhouettes of the four members supported by their backup dancers, there was no better way to start the concert than to exude girl-on-top energy.

The show quickly jumped into the solo stages starting off with Chaeryeong. Bringing on Mine, Chaeryeong worked the stage with her sleek dance moves, with apt usage of a mirror set-up that metaphorically depicted possessiveness. The atmosphere took a turn when Ryujin came on with Run Away, donning an outfit similar to a rockstar as she screamed to the lyrics about escaping from a toxic individual.

Perhaps this was the concept that ITZY was going for, to have different concepts in between solo stages. Yuna transformed into a real-life Barbie as diamond props surrounded her singing and dancing boisterously to Yet, But. The positive stage and aura got the audience screaming for more as it appeared she was in her own natural element. The ambience turned transformed for the final time as Yeji performed her rock-piece Crown On My Head, a powerful melody inspired by the keywords ‘crown’ and ‘queen’, which are representative of ITZY.

ITZY continued to dish out song after song, and our favourite part of the concert was getting to see the title tracks that made ITZY deserving of the title ‘queens of 4th generation’. From Loco to Not Shy and jamming to newer titles like Cake and Sneaker, the non-stop series kept taking MIDZY’s breath away.

When the concert was nearing its end, the members shared their honest thoughts and regrets about not delivering their best. Yuna choked on her words while talking about the mistakes that she made, however MIDZY were eager to shout gwaenchana (it’s okay), as they knew she did her best. The night was made even more memorable as MIDZY prepared a fanmade video and a special fan event, expressing their gratitude towards the members.

We hope everyone enjoyed the concert and would like to thank ITZY for ther showmanship and Live Nation SG for the invite!
