[SINGAPORE] HIGHLIGHT Graces Shilla’s 4th Year Anniversary Fanmeet in Singapore

HIGHLIGHT was recently appointed as Shilla Duty Free’s newest ambassador in 2018, and has been actively engaged in their ambassadorship with the brand! As part of their promotions, the group, comprising of 5 members, Yong Junhyung, Yang Yoseob, Lee Gikwang and Son Dongwoon (with the absence of leader Yoon Doojoon due to military service) graced Singapore for a media conference and fanmeet to celebrate Shilla Duty Free’s 4th year anniversary in Changi Airport. The boys proved to be the best fit for Shilla Duty Free’s ambassadors, and were all smiles and laughter when we met them! 🙂

Media Conference
The four gentlemen were donned in suits as they appeared at Changi Airport Terminal 4, which was just opened less than a year ago. Singapore LIGHTs were excited to see the boys but nonetheless maintained a calm and conducive environment as the media press conference took place. The emcee started the ball rolling by asking about their experience at the Shilla Duty Free Beauty Loft located at Changi Airport Terminal 3, and all of them were in unison that the products displayed were extremely customer-friendly, and the range of products were a perfect fit for everyone to try. Yoseob added that it is an honour to be the new models to a duty free store awarded to the top airport in Asia.

HIGHLIGHT added that they were delighted to hear that the Shilla Duty Free store in Singapore has been steadily loved by airport-goers. Dongwoon offered his sincere congratulations and expressed his gratitude to be able to join in the 4th year anniversary celebration, and hopes to be together with Shilla Duty Free for 400 years and beyond. They also shared their favourite and go-to cosmetic products whenever they are at the duty free store – Gikwang and Dongwoon commonly frequent the make-up, perfume and skincare products, while Yoseob expressed that he would always be spoilt for choices seeing the myriad of products.

It was a lovely sight to see the members of HIGHLIGHT all smiles as they proceeded on with the media conference and answered each question posed after deliberate consideration. The emcee even pointed out that Gikwang had been grinning from ear to ear since the start and when asked for the reason, Gikwang said that he just likes smiling! Everyone present swooned at the answer and the way his lips curved and eyes twinkled whenever he smiled.

HIGHLIGHT also answered personal questions such as their must-bring items whenever they go overseas. For Yoseob, he needs to carry mist with him as he knows that the airport and plane can be dry. Junhyung shared that a lipbalm is his must-bring item since he needs to maintain his handsome lips especially since Korea can be quite cold nowadays. Dongwoon gave a sweet answer that he needs his foundation and hand cream, so that he can always look his best when he meets his fans, and can greet them with his soft and moisturised hands.

HIGHLIGHT also proved themselves to be the best ambassadors for Shilla Duty Free as their answers to questions were always in consideration of the duty free store. Dongwoon wanted to buy a gift for his Mother’s birthday from Shilla Duty Free, while Junhyung answered that despite getting inspiration for song-writing from his daily routines, he thinks he would be able to get inspiration nowadays from being the brand ambassador. Yoseob even said that the secret to him maintaining his youthful looks was Shilla Duty Free’s products, and Gikwang expressed his desire to film a commercial for Shilla Duty Free as part of his future plans.

Apart from questions related to the duty free store, HIGHLIGHT also brought up their member, Doojoon, who could not be with them. While it is given that it is not a situation where they can often keep in contact with Doojoon, the rest of the members have been writing letters to him. Junhyung even raised his hands when the emcee asked the crowd who missed Doojoon. We are sure that the friendship between them are unbreakable! This point was proven when they were asked about their plans for the next decade as a group since they have spent a remarkable 9 years together. Yoseob was determined that the only thing that would change between them would be their age and the number of years they spend together, and Gikwang promised that they would continue to sing, dance and perform together as HIGHLIGHT.

After an hour long of media conference, HIGHLIGHT proceeded backstage to prepare for the next segment of fanmeet with LIGHTs.

Fanmeet
Before the beginning of performances, the boys briefly answered a few more questions posed by the emcee. Gikwang shared a piece of advice regarding cosmetics that there is no specific item he would recommend as he knows that everyone should use appropriate ones based on their skin types. Junhyung also once again reaffirmed HIGHLIGHT’s stand that moving forward, instead of a big wish for the group, he just hopes that HIGHLIGHT will always be together and be able to celebrate every milestone with LIGHTs.

HIGHLIGHT performed a total of 4 songs – ‘Plz Don’t Be Sad’, ‘Calling You’, ‘Celebrate’ and ‘Beautiful Night’ during the fanmeet. They proved to be veterans in the industry as they were able to hype the audience with their outstanding stage presence, solid vocals and sleek dance moves. HIGHLIGHT even made sure that they reached out and interacted with fans from all directions, as they knew that there were fans from other countries who came especially to see them, as well as fans who came as early as 7am to get a good spot for themselves. It was definitely a joyous sight to see both idols and fans having a good time together.

After the performance, several lucky fans were also given the opportunity for an exclusive hi-touch session with HIGHLIGHT. The boys maintained their energy throughout and gave excellent fanservice to their fans. After an eventful 2 hours with LIGHTs, HIGHLIGHT bade their goodbyes and promised to return to Singapore very quickly so as not to keep their fans waiting for long.
