Nation’s boy-group, EXO, comprising of members Suho, Xiumin, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Chen, D.O, Kai, Sehun & Lay (couldn’t attend), returned to Singapore as part of their fourth tour, EXO Planet #4 – The EℓyXiOn on the 3rd of March! This concert marks almost a year after the boy group returned to Singapore, as the last that they came as a group was for their 3rd tour, EXO Planet #3 – The EXO’rDIUM, in April last year. Unfortunately due to previous alignments, member Lay was absent and unable to partake in this tour.
Before the concert started, fans of all ages were seen streaming into the concert venue, showing pangs of excitement despite the sweltering weather that day. Apart from normal concert-goers, families were seen attending the concert as well, with parents holding the hands of their children on one, and the Aeribong (EXO’s official lightstick) on the other.
The concert started with a bang as EXO kicked started the show with ‘The Eve’. Fans were extremely excited as EXO performed songs from their latest album, ‘The War’, consecutively and fan-chants were extremely loud especially for ‘Ko Ko Bop’. Singapore EXO-Ls must have been really excited to see EXO again after such a long wait! EXO continuously thanked Singapore EXO-Ls for the passion that they displayed and were apologetic for making it such a long wait, as they promised a night to remember so that EXO-Ls could leave the venue feeling contented.
The boys also seemed to be in a really good mood as they interacted with EXO-Ls by throwing plastic balls into the crowd while performing ‘What You Do’. After a series of performances that left the audience at the edge of their seats, leader Suho said that it had been some time since the group came to Singapore together, and requested for each member to share how they felt about returning to Singapore.
Chanyeol mentioned that while he was doing his solo stage, ‘Hands’, he wished he had more individual chances to showcase his talents to everyone, but at the same time felt ’empty’ as he was used to being with 8 other members on stage. Kai expressed that due to the powerful moves from his solo stage, he could not have an in-ear and had to rely on the background music. He was worried as the crowd’s cheers overpowered the music, but had to admit that he was enjoying every single moment of it.
After performing ‘Power’, EXO went backstage, while the crowd asked for more and shouted for an encore. EXO-Ls also sang an acapella version of ‘For Life’, which was performed by Chanyeol and D.O, as they awaited for their favourite boy group for their encore stage. Eventually, EXO-L’s screams were not gone to waste as EXO performed their final 2 songs of the night, “Don’t Go” and ‘Angel’.
Lastly, EXO thanked Singapore EXO-Ls sincerely for their passion and energy. Kai even acknowledged the fan banners that were held that said “Nation’s Pick ♥ Congratulations“, as part of a fan-project to congratulate EXO for performing during the closing ceremony of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics! Sehun ended off by saying that he wished for more opportunities to visit Singapore more often, and that all Singapore EXO-Ls will stay happy and healthy while waiting for their return.
We would like to express gratitude to One Production for inviting us to the concert, and for giving Singapore EXO-Ls another night to remember! 🙂
