Dubbed as the Nation’s Pick, the sensational group EXO finally made their way back to our tiny red dot for EXO PLANET #5 – EXplOration – in SINGAPORE on 15 September. This is the group’s 4th consecutive year performing in Singapore. Despite being three men down, the stadium was packed with more than 8,000 EXO-Ls attending the tour stop in Singapore, which proved the group’s ever-rising popularity.
As the song ‘Moonlight’ came on, EXO-Ls were prepared for the boys to appear on stage anytime. With the lights dimmed, the “I can’t believe” in their hit song ‘Tempo’ made an incredible impact on EXO-Ls, as the six boys appeared on stage, handsome as ever. With their racer outfits, the xenial boy group continued through the first half of their setlist with fan-favourite ‘Transformer’, followed by ‘Gravity’ — one of their best B-sides from their fifth full-length album ‘Don’t Mess Up My Tempo. With an unexpected transition, Baekhyun made his way on stage wearing an expensive-looking white suit, looking like a white knight from a fairytale. With his solo debut ‘UN Village’, EXO-Ls were left flabbergasted by his sultry moves and alluring vocals. Chanyeol was even amazed that the EXO-Ls were singing along to ‘UN Village’ fervently; we can’t help it when it’s a whole bop!
Returning on stage, EXO performed various B-sides ‘24/7’, ‘Ooh La La La’ and ‘Oasis’, not forgetting their mind-blowing single from their last comeback, ‘Love Shot’. Bringing back their older hits, the fan-chants of ‘Monster’ were louder than ever. With the group consisting of many incredible talents, it is apparent for the different members to show off their unique factors. With Chen’s incredible vocal ability, he electrified the crowd with his own spin of ‘Lights Out’, a B-side from EXO’s album, ‘Universe’. Suho wore a red outfit that highlighted his tantalizing persona, dancing to ‘Been Through’, and even taking off his shirt at the end. EXO’s newest sub-unit, EXO-SC brought their new tunes ‘What a Life’ and ‘Closer’ to the concert, and the crowd was up on their feet by the end of their set. With a plethora of genres, EXO are extremely versatile performers!
Throughout the concert, Chanyeol had an obsession with dabbing. Not only did he dab, but he did a tutorial on how to dab, and requested for EXO-Ls to follow his way of dabbing. With their mischievous personalities, EXO-Ls were able to explore the different sides of EXO, where they are not only astounding performers but also boys with endearing personalities. Rounding up their set with ‘Falling for You’, ‘On the Snow’ and ‘Smile On My Face’, EXO showed EXO-Ls a great time, and it was an unforgettable concert that the fans will keep close to their hearts.
