[SINGAPORE] CNBLUE Serves ‘Killer Joy’ And Nostalgia With Intense ‘3LOGY’ Concert

CNBLUE has been at the forefront of K-pop’s band scene since their smash debut, building reputations as actors, songwriters, and entertainment stars. 17 years later, they are showing no signs of slowing down.

The trio, composed of frontman Jung Yonghwa, bassist Lee Jungshin and drummer Kang Minhyuk, took the stage at The Star Theatre on March 20, 2026 fresh off the heels of back-to-back shows in Australia.

Since their sensational debut with I’m A Loner, CNBLUE has enjoyed a successful career with hits like Can’t Stop, Love Girl, and Cinderella. They returned to Singapore after two years to promote their third studio album 3LOGY, taking the audience on a journey featuring career highlights and what to look forward to as they continue to reinvent their sound.

CNBLUE stepped on stage to infectious cheers, delivering an explosion of energy, rousing the crowd onto their feet – commanding them to jump and dance along with every shred of the electric guitar and every slam of the cymbals.

Singapore BOICEs returned that power in kind – with the band praising the concert as the best stop of the tour because of their immense energy.

The trio served iconic second-generation K-pop realness with smooth playfulness and banter with fans, with all-rounder Yonghwa even pulling off a short acapella rendition of 2PM’s My House

They even conversed with fans in English and Singlish, learning the local slang terms yan dao (pretty boy in Hokkien) to describe themselves, and chio bu as an ode to their fans.

They also praised the local cuisine, with Yonghwa raving about mouth-watering chilli and black pepper crabs, while Jungshin praised the popular hotpot chain Haidilao.

The concert took a darker twist with the atmospheric track Domino, where Yonghwa let it rip on the synth. Accompanied by turquoise lasers, the stripped drum, warped synthwave and full-bodied bass made it an otherworldly performance. The band gave it their all with an extended outro – showing their range and polish as instrumentalists.

The dreamy momentum continued with setlist staples like Radio, which showcased Minhyuk’s drumming skills – hitting every beat with force and intensity.

“Over the years as CNBLUE, we have had many days filled with laughter, but also some days with tears,” Yonghwa said, as he introduced the track The Temperature of Memory from their latest studio album, written by Jungshin.

“(The song) has a variety of meanings behind it. I wonder, in all of your memories, what temperature was CNBLUE?” Jungshin asked.

The vibe turned sentimental, as Yonghwa picked up an acoustic guitar and crooned melancholic vocals about the present and the future. The trio continued the tender atmosphere with To The Moon and Back, which was reminiscent of The 1975’s moodier work, before they transformed into lover boys serenading with Still A Flower as fans waved custom-made rose-shaped lights.

The members loved the lights so much that they asked for their own to bring home with them to Seoul, which fans happily obliged by throwing their own roses onto the stage – applauding them for their hard work.

Yonghwa quipped that the lights reminded him of Jungshin’s home, because the bassist still had his Christmas tree up despite the year being well into March.

“In Korea, there’s a tradition that we clear the tree in April,” Jungshin joked.

“It’s like that when you live alone,” Yonghwa agreed.

They ended the night with their most iconic tracks – pure bursts of energy with Between Us, I’m Sorry and the iconic I’m a Loner. It was a nostalgic delight for longtime listeners of the band, yet somehow managed to stay fresh.

“After 17 years, we’re still here performing for you guys, and it makes me so proud,” Yonghwa said. “We won’t stop making good songs and performing in front of you forever. So look forward to more tours, okay?”

Alongside Singapore BOICEs, our answer is a resounding yes.

Thank you CK Star Entertainment for the media invite!
