[SINGAPORE] Cha Eunwoo Spills About Kiss Scene with Puppy at Exclusive Press Conference

ASTRO member and actor Cha Eunwoo discussed his career and personality at an exclusive press conference with the Singaporean media ahead of his fan concert, 2024 Just One 10 Minute: <Mystery Elevator>, later that evening. 

Contrary to the dazzling glitter jacket he appeared in, the South Korean darling exuded a shy aura as he gave the interview in part Korean, part English. He also expressed his excitement in meeting fans in Singapore, a couple of whom had previously urged him to visit the city through virtual fansigning events. This fan concert would be the first time the singer-actor is performing solo in Singapore — Cha Eunwoo was here in 2017 with the rest of his ASTRO bandmates for the group’s 1st Showcase. 

The heartthrob named Marina Bay his favourite spot in Singapore and would love a dip in the Infinity Pool. While he might not have the highest tolerance for spicy food, Cha Eunwoo enjoys both chili crab and black pepper crab, and plans to indulge in some black pepper crab after the concert.

Having penned the lyrics for every track on his solo debut EP ENTITY, Cha Eunwoo revealed that he often writes notes during flights and waiting times, weaving these ideas together like jjamppong to create a song. 

Like a true all-rounder, Cha Eunwoo states no preference for genre, be it in music or acting in dramas and films. He tends to pick his projects based on the script and the character. One of his recent works, MBC series A Good Day to Be a Dog, featured a peculiar scene involving the actor kissing his puppy co-star on the lips. “It wasn’t easy getting the puppy to kiss me, so for that scene, I had to put some dog food on my lips,” Cha Eunwoo recalled while quietly chuckling.

Outside of A Good Day to Be a Dog, Cha Eunwoo is quite the dog lover himself. He mentioned raising a Mini Bichon named Dongdong, who is currently in the care of his mother. A montage of the singer’s treasured moments with Dongdong is also featured in Cha Eunwoo’s music video for his solo track, You’re the best.

What does a dashing superstar like Cha Eunwoo do for leisure, you might ask? Eating good food, visiting cute cafes, hanging out with friends, and taking a good ol’ nap — just like everyone else. 

Cha Eunwoo hopes that his music will serve as a source of comfort and healing for fans. A word to those who are struggling, “You have good people around you. Don’t be too hard on yourself, and treat yourself a little kinder.”
