[SINGAPORE] aespa SYNK Up with Singapore MYs at Sold Out Show

K-Pop girl group aespa made their first Singapore visit for their aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK : PARALLEL LINE in Singapore with LOTTE DUTY FREE on July 20, 2024!

The quartet’s stop in the Lion City was part of the group’s latest concert tour, which was in support of Armageddon, aespa’s first studio album released in May. The concert tour kicked off in Seoul in June, before heading to Fukuoka, Nagoya and Saitama in Japan and finally making a stop here in Singapore.

Bringing All The Drama

Performing to a sold out show of 8,500 fans in the Singapore Indoor Stadium, aespa wasted no time in making their presence known by opening the show with the mega hit Drama and then seamlessly transitioning to their debut track Black Mamba as well as Salty & Sweet off their Spicy EP.

aespa continued the momentum as they performed the catchy track Supernova, before transforming into sexy queens as they performed Mine and Illusion, showcasing their allure through their choreographies and dazzling costumes to match. aespa then officially introduced themselves to the audience with loud cheers from MYs (aespa’s fandom name) in attendance. Since this was aespa’s first time visiting Singapore, they hoped that the audience will have fun throughout the concert.

They then took things slow with sultry track Thirsty, before performing bubbly tracks Prologue and Long Chat, showcasing their playful side to the audience with cute choreographies to match.

Solo Stages Showcase

A special segment for this tour is where aespa treated the fans with solo stages of each member. They had done this previously during their SYNK: HYPER LINE concert tour, and for this tour, they performed brand new tracks! Not to mention, all the members have participated in songwriting as well as choreography for their respective stages.

Member Giselle started off with her sexy R&B track Dopamine, followed by Karina with the old school hip-hop track Up. Ningning continued with her groovy pop track BORED!, and Winter ended the segment with her dance track Spark. Each of the members were able to showcase their individual charms to the audience with their special stages.

Back-to-back Hits

aespa returned to the stage as a full group to perform a slew of hits: Summer track Spicy, sassy track Licorice, and their Tetris OST Hold On Tight, which they have remixed to a club track and featured dance breaks from all of the members and dancers.

aespa then performed their version of Regret of The Times sung originally by legendary South Korean group Seo Taiji and Boys, headbanger track Live My Life, and We Go, their OST tracks for anime Pokémon Horizons: The Series. They even got the audience to sing along for the song chorus, which they then claimed to be the loudest one so far during the tour!

They also performed rock versions of tracks Trick or Trick, Set The Tone, Next Level, as well as their latest album’s title song Armageddon. The rock influences definitely enhanced the songs’ appeal, and combined with the showmanship of each member performing the tracks made this segment a killer combo.

Having Fun Until The End

aespa returned for an encore as they performed the high energy track aptly titled aenergy. In their closing segments, the members expressed their gratitude for being able to visit Singapore for the first time, and hoped to come back here more often. They also thanked the fans attending for their love and support for all this while. aespa then performed the summer pop track BAHAMA and a ballad track Melody, before finally ending the concert.

The 2.5-hour long concert was so much fun as aespa was able to showcase why they were dubbed as one of the 4th generation leaders in K-Pop. We hope to see aespa return to the Lion City soon! Thank you RELE Asia for the media invite!
