[SINGAPORE] A Night of Music, Games, and Fan-Fueled Excitement with BABYMONSTER

The seven-member South Korean girl group BABYMONSTER gave a stunning performance in Singapore on their first visit to the sunny island on June 15, 2024. The sold-out show at The Star Theatre was a testament to the group’s rising fame.

BABYMONSTER, which consists of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita, captured the attention of fans from the moment the group debuted. The music videos for Like That and Batter Up were played prior to the show. There was a tangible sense of excitement in the air as the music video for Sheesh started. The chorus burst through the speakers, the increase in volume signalling the beginning of an incredible evening.

Know More About BABYMONSTER!

BABYMONSTER gave fans a peek into their personal life offstage by sharing photos during the BM Random Profile segment. Each girl took turns to choose a number from 1 to 4, after which a random photo was revealed to the audience. Ruka’s photo was taken simply because she thought the sky looked nice, Pharita’s “silly” photo was taken after doing her make-up at the company, and Asa’s cute baby photo was taken by her mom. All the photos emphasised their distinctive characters.

Ahyeon’s quirky photo was taken when she randomly found a pencil while Rami’s photo was taken by Asa during their first performance of SHEESH. Rora’s snapshot was taken at a pop-up store, and Chiquita’s was an impromptu, candid photo. Fans had a lot of fun as they took photos of the never-seen-before selfies of the girls.

They also read out fan messages during one of the segments. Chiquita revealed that Mulan is her favourite Disney princess, while Ahyeon divulged that her favourite song is Rewrite The Stars. Pharita’s current favourite song is Lunch by Billie Eilish and Ruka gave the audience a little spoiler for the next comeback. Rora had the crowd cheering when she said that a world tour was on her bucket list. Fans got to know from Asa that she thinks Chiquita is the strongest member in BABYMONSTER as not only does she score highest on the punching machine, but she also does taekwondo! When Rami was asked about her first meal in Singapore, guess what did she answer? That’s right, it’s chili crab!

Epic Games and Team Battles

The group was divided into two teams during BM Studio — Team Baby and Team Monster, displaying each girl’s playful and competitive sides. Asa, Ruka, Rora, and Pharita made up Team Baby, and they took on tasks like drawing the Avengers and chili crab. Rora hesitated on being the first to draw, so Ruka stepped up to the challenge. Each person was given three seconds to draw after being given two keywords, while a fan had to shout the correct answer.

Team Monster, comprising of Ahyeon, Rami, and Chiquita, encountered amusing incidents of their own. Ahyeon’s effort at drawing only a straight line after being given the keyword ‘zipline’ drew a dumbfounded gaze from Chiquita. In the end, there was a tie and both teams won crowns!

The fan meeting was made even more memorable as a lucky draw was held near the end of the session. Seven lucky fans from the audience won signed t-shirts! It definitely added a memorable touch to the evening.

Of High Notes and Awesome Covers

The tribute to 2NE1 was probably one of the highlights of that night as BABYMONSTER performed a medley of songs by their seniors. The theatre was filled with cheers as the girls performed a mash-up of Can’t Nobody, I Am the Best and Fire! It was a treat for most fans, as they sang along enthusiastically with BABYMONSTER during the segment.

Of course, there was no doubt that they did such a great job while singing their own songs. Some of the songs that BABYMONSTER performed were SHEESH, LIKE THAT, BATTER UP, DREAM and Stuck in the Middle. Fans screamed along during SHEESH, some standing up and waving their hands up in the air, especially during the encore!

The night ended on a high note with BABYMONSTER’s encore performance, a remix of Stuck in the Middle which left the audience in awe. The fan-concert, filled with engaging games, heartfelt interactions, and stunning performances, revealed the group’s musical talent and strong connection with their fans. As BABYMONSTER posed for photos and bid their farewells, the anticipation for their future endeavours was palpable.

It was a night to remember for BABYMONSTER and fans alike. We hope that BABYMONSTER will return to Singapore soon! Thank you Livenation SG for the media accreditation.
