[SINGAPORE] A Night of Fun Spent at EXO-SC ‘Back To Back’ Fancon

It has been four years since Singapore EXO-Ls last saw Oh Sehun and Park Chanyeol, so it did not come as a surprise when EXO-SC were welcomed by the deafening cheers of the crowd from the moment they appeared on the stage! EXO-SC is an EXO sub-unit made up of rappers Sehun and Chanyeol. Singapore is one of the stops for EXO-SC’s ‘Back To Back’ fancon tour, which was held on May 17^th. EXO-Ls got to meet the duo at The Star Theatre for a night of fun and laughter. Everyone had such an amazing time with Sehun and Chanyeol, as they played games and interacted with fans all night long.

Of Chilli Crabs & Heartfelt Thoughts

Chanyeol was very passionate about chilli crab in particular, and revealed that the moment they touched down in Singapore, they ordered chilli crab to eat. However, they ordered it once again when they reached their hotel. It seems like there is no escaping the words “chilli crab” every time a Korean artist is asked about his or her favourite food in Singapore!

To the crowd’s relief, Sehun was more rational — voicing out that Chanyeol was weird for being too in love with chilli crab! The duo was then asked to share two personal photos that have never been revealed before. Sehun shared a photo of himself, that was taken when he went snowboarding with his friends. Another photo that he shared was a sneaky candid shot of the EXO members during the VCR recording for the EXO’ CLOCK fanmeeting. Sehun confessed that he thought that the EXO members looked cute at that time, which prompted him to snap the particular photo. EXO-Ls were excited to catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the rest of the EXO members who were not present at that time.

As for Chanyeol, one of the photos he shared was one that he took of a random rich uncle who treated him to chilli crab. However, he revealed that he was just joking afterwards.

Next is a segment called “Can You Hear My Heart” where Sehun and Chanyeol had to give the same answer in order to show that they are on the same wavelength, or in this case, that they are able to “hear each other’s heart”.

Sehun and Chanyeol were asked about which superhero character they prefer, Ironman or Captain America. Chanyeol said that he would choose Captain America but as he was thinking from Sehun’s point of view, he decided that Sehun would pick Ironman. On the other hand, Sehun agreed and indeed picked Ironman. It turns out that he does not know much about Captain America, which was why he picked Ironman. It looks like Chanyeol was right on the mark!

Another question which made the duo put on their thinking caps was “Will you go back to the past with a time machine?”. Sehun expressed that he would want to go back to the past because he wanted to be able to fix some mistakes that he might have made. However, Chanyeol confessed that he would not want to go back to the past. He does not want to risk any situation where he might not be able to meet the people that he knows in the present, which was why he would much rather focus on the present than dwell on the past!

EXO-SC Entertains with Catchy Songs

However, the fancon would not be complete without EXO-SC’s live performances! Sehun and Chanyeol opened the show with What a life, appearing onstage with utmost energy. EXO-Ls were singing along to the lyrics once they recovered from the shock of seeing the pair suddenly making their entrance. EXO-SC also performed Borderline, which has a more chill and laidback rhythm. The audience were simply grooving along to the music. When 1 Billion Views was performed next, everyone started cheering once more! The disco rhythm was enjoyable and easy to listen to. It is also EXO-SC’s latest comeback song, from back in 2020. EXO-SC performed other songs such as We Young, Fly Away and Rodeo Station.

EXO-SC Fulfills EXO-Ls’ Wishes!

Next up, Sehun and Chanyeol challenged each other in a game where the loser would have to accept the forfeit. Sehun won! The pair was given some pandan cake to try out, and learnt how to use the Singlish word “shiok” to describe the cake as delicious. It was entertaining to see the boys trying to pronounce the word, which they did really well pronouncing! However, they kept repeating the word over and over again, to the fans’ amusement. Chanyeol had to endure Sehun pasting stickers all over his face after that, simply surrendering himself to the fact that there was no escape for him.

EXO-SC then worked hard to fulfil EXO-Ls’ wishes in the segment afterwards. They did a heart trio set and wore bunny ears. Chanyeol received a request to play the guitar for a fan who was celebrating his or her birthday on that day. To everyone’s delight, Chanyeol went the extra mile and even played “Yours” after he was done with the birthday song! He sure knows how to make fans happy!

Sehun had to fulfil a “random play dance” request. He first danced to EXO’s Growl, but upon hearing Love Shot coming on, Sehun quickly took off his bunny ears to unleash his full sexy potential! However, that was not all! EXO-Ls were blessed with Chanyeol dancing to The Eve, making them shout in glee. What a treat!

One last gift that Sehun and Chanyeol decided to leave the fans with is a one-of-a-kind custom tumbler from each of the boys. Sehun’s tumbler has his name and signature while Chanyeol’s has a drawing of Groot and cherries. 2 lucky EXO-Ls got the opportunity to bring the tumblers back home!

The duo managed to snap a photo with the fans as well, where the audience had the opportunity to hold up banners which say “EXO-SC who shines brilliantly”! It was a nice little surprise for both boys, who were endeared by the gesture prepared by Singapore EXO-Ls.  After a round of encore and ending the show with Just Us 2, Sehun and Chanyeol had to say goodbye to their beloved EXO-Ls.

It was such an amazing night, and we are sure that the memory of attending such an eventful fancon will remain in the minds of EXO-SC and EXO-Ls for a very long time. We hope that Sehun and Chanyeol can come down to Singapore again soon, though maybe with the rest of the EXO members as well?
