Youngjae, multi-hyphenate idol and member of boy group GOT7, returned to the Philippines last February 24, 2024 for his Inside Out tour held at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

He last visited the country four years ago for his Sugar Fansign in Manila, which was also held at the same venue.

Youngjae kicked off the concert with back-to-back performances of Vibin and Sugar, after which he greeted the crowd with greetings of “Mabuhay!” (literally ‘to live’, but is used as a standard Filipino greeting).

The singer-songwriter also commented that 2024 is a special year for him because it is the 10th anniversary of GOT7 with whom he started in the industry.

As for the title of his Asia tour, Youngjae explained that it is because he believes that “everyone has different versions of themselves inside [them]”.

He added that he included some B-tracks from his full solo album last year in the concert setlist.

Youngjae shared that while making the album, he had a lot of thoughts about when he’ll be able to show it to the fans, so he’s happy to be able to perform it now.

Continuing on with the show, Youngjae performed Deal, Dreaming Again, and a heartfelt cover of Bruno MarsWhen I Was Your Man.

Youngjae said that he chose to sing the cover as he knows that Bruno Mars is deeply connected to the Philippines (Mars is half Filipino) and is one of Youngjae’s favourite singers.

He also shared that he went to Bruno Mars’ concert in Korea and was amazed by how good he was performing live. To this, fans said “You too!” which Youngjae thanked them for.

Up next on the setlist was Thinking of You, Focus, Tasty, and Do It. After a brief VCR, Youngjae then performed Lonely and Problem.

At that point, Youngjae was having some trouble with his in-ear monitor, so he thought that he didn’t perform well.

Ahgases then assured him that he did well; nevertheless, Youngjae promised to sing the song again during the encore.

To cap off his main setlist, Youngjae performed Roses, Moonlight, Snooze, Crema, and Flower.

Youngjae’s first encore song was Never Leave You Alone. He explained that it was a song made for Ahgases, encouraging them to sing it along with him.

Fans then started the classic “walang uuwi (no one’s going home)” chant. Youngjae was amused by this, and was taught a counter-chant by the backstage translator: “Ayokong umuwi (I don’t want to come home).”

He also took the time to appreciate the fan projects that Ahgases had prepared for him such as the fan-made video shown during the encore, the candies and snacks in his waiting room, and the bouquet that Youngjae said smelled really good.

Youngjae then went on with the encore performing GOT7 songs, including Hard Carry, Lullaby, NANANA, Breath, and Girls Girls Girls, which made everyone jump on their feet.

The fan service was also incredible during the encore as Youngjae went around the audience area signing posters for the fans and wearing the accessories that Ahgases had brought for him.

For the first part of his ending chat segment, Youngjae didn’t forget to thank the staff, his company, and everyone else who worked behind the scenes.

Of course, he expressed his gratitude to his beloved fans as well: “Without you guys, we wouldn’t be here today. In the future, I’ll prepare amazing stages and show them to you [soon]. Until then, let’s see each other again, okay?”

Afterwards, Youngjae did another round of Do It, Deal, and Dreaming.

To finally cap off the night, Youngjae once again thanked his fans for coming out to see him: “I really hope you guys had fun today as much as I did. I realised that I love being onstage, [even when] I’m practising and working alone. Mahal ko kayo (I love you all).”
