[PHILIPPINES] Wild Wild After Party Lights Up Manila with Unforgettable Performances

South Korea’s audacious all-male performance group, Wild Wild After Party, delivered an unforgettable night in Manila on May 24 at the New Frontier Theater, leaving Filipino audiences buzzing with excitement and awe.

For the very first time in the Philippines, the eight-member ensemble brought their signature blend of sensual choreography, athleticism, and charismatic stage presence in two electrifying shows: an exclusive afternoon performance for women and an evening event open to all genders.

A Night of Bold Themes and Mesmerizing Acts

True to their reputation, Wild Wild’s Manila performances featured a variety of themed scenes that combined slick dance routines with daring costume changes. The cast seamlessly transitioned from sharp-suited gentlemen to revealing outfits that showcased their sculpted physiques — including sailor uniforms and towel-clad sequences that thrilled the crowd.

During the press conference, Kim Dong-hee said, “At Wild Wild, we wanted to offer something fresh and exciting, different from typical K-pop shows, our themes speak to women’s fantasies and beyond.”

The audience’s media response was palpable, with many cheering, applauding, and fully immersed in the energetic vibe that the group cultivated.

Performer Dedication on Full Display

Maintaining the group’s signature chiseled physiques requires intense discipline, and the performers’ commitment was evident in their flawless execution. Han Saem and Noah, who shared their insights during the press conference, talked about their rigorous routine: “We exercise every day and make sure to intake protein regularly to keep our bodies performance-ready.”

Their varied dance backgrounds added richness to the show — from Kang Chunil’s contemporary dance fluidity to Kim Jinwoo’s martial arts-inspired moves, the ensemble offered a dynamic and well-coordinated spectacle.

Breaking New Ground in Manila

Traditionally performing exclusively for women in South Korea, Wild Wild’s decision to hold an all-genders evening show in Manila added an exciting twist. Kim Jinwoo expressed his delight about this opportunity: “It was great to see how different audiences engage with our performance and the energy was incredible.”

Kang Chunil praised the Filipino audience’s passion, saying, “The love and enthusiasm we’re feeling is really pushing us to give our best.”

A Cultural Exchange Beyond Performance

They also took the opportunity to immerse themselves in Filipino culture. Several cast members expressed curiosity about Filipino cuisine, with Kim Jinwoo excited to try local dishes like bulalo, adobo, and kare-kare after the show.

Their admiration for Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao was evident, with Jinwoo calling Pacquiao one of his biggest fitspirations.

Manila Welcomes a New Kind of Entertainment

Wild Wild After Party’s Manila run has opened doors for new types of performance art that fuse physical prowess, sensuality, and theatricality. Fans left the theater energized, eager for what the group will bring next to the Philippines.

With this successful debut, Wild Wild has firmly planted its flag in the Southeast Asian entertainment scene, promising to return with more dazzling shows in the future.
