[PHILIPPINES] The Lucky CHOIs with Choi Minho in Manila

Global K-pop Idol and SHINee’s Flaming Charisma Choi Minho spent a special night with Filipino Shawols for his first fan meeting in Manila last January 28 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The arena was filled with excitement as Minho finally held his first solo fan meeting in the country. Minho’s comeback to Manila has been anticipated by Filipino SHINee World as it has been over 5 years since his last visit to the country last 2017 for the Global Peace Concert One K in Manila.

Let’s recap the beautiful night with Choi Minho and his Lucky CHOIs!

The Lucky Moment

Minho first greeted the fans with a live performance of Heartbreak, a track from his first mini-album Chase which was recently released last December. 

For the first segment, Minho had to participate in a series of mini-games to complete the lucky box that had a big prize for fans at the end of the show.

Minho got a chance to wear the Barong Tagalog which is a Philippine traditional garment for Men. “I feel such honour to wear this Barong Tagalog,” it was his first time wearing one and he said it was a meaningful experience.

For his second lucky box, Minho acted in scenes from popular K-dramas like Alchemy of Souls and Descendants of the Sun. Perhaps the most heart-fluttering moment in that segment was when he reenacted the gun standoff scene in episode 4 of Descendants of the Sun.

Minho made his first acting debut in 2010 through the KBS drama special called Pianist. He then had his first lead role in the drama To the Beautiful You alongside Sulli and Lee Hyun Woo. He is also widely known for his roles in such dramas as Hwarang and his highly-anticipated Netflix series, The Fabulous.

In the next portion of the show, he was asked where he would take his Filipino fans if they plan a visit to South Korea. Minho made everyone laugh when he said that he would recommend going to Kwangya, referring to his company. The K-pop idol also recommended trying local Korean staple food like kimbap and samgyeopsal, then taking photos in the trending photo booth areas in Seoul.

And he is not called Mr. Flaming Charisma for nothing! After completing all the mini-games with fans, he picked three lucky CHOIs that won special and signed items from Minho himself.

Minho then serenaded the fans with Runaway, a song he co-wrote and also performed Chase, the title track from his first mini-album with the same title for the first time in Manila. He successfully showcased his incredible charisma and super sexy swag through these performances.

Minho expressed his gratitude with his glistening and beautiful eyes to all the fans who went to the fan meeting and spent the special night with him. Minho said he thinks that it’s destiny to meet his fans again after a very long time. 

“I will make sure to come with the other members (of SHINee) and show you good performances. Until then, stay healthy and I hope you always have good memories. Let’s meet again. See you again!” Minho said as he bid goodbye before his last song.

Minho ended his fan meeting with I’m Home, a song he released prior to his military enlistment. 

It was definitely a night that made the SHINee World feel super nostalgic in the best way!
