[PHILIPPINES] The Hammingtons take on Manila for the first time!

South Korea’s favourite trio — Sam, William, and Bentley greeted their fans in the Philippines for their fan-meeting at the New Frontier Theater last July 18, 2022. The trio is known for their appearance in the Return of Superman which aired back in October 2016.

Press Conference

The press learned a bit more about the trio as they took their time to answer some of the questions people were curious about. When asked about their dream guests on their show, William immediately answered with his current favourite K-Pop boy group, Stray Kids and adorable Bentley blurted out Spongebob and Squidward. The New Zealander-Australian comedian, Sam Hammington, expressed his fondness for the Philippine weather and shared a few parenting tips with everyone.

First Segment — Kamustahan

Sam started off the fan meeting by saying thank you to all the fans who have supported him and his kids. The reality show star added that they wouldn’t be able to do what they are doing without the love and support of the fans all over the world. He also shared that they are taking this opportunity to go around and meet as many fans as possible.

William and Bentley were asked which profession they enjoyed and loved when they did their new variety programme, Hammingtons Dream Closet, William chose to become a model, while Bentley answered zookeeper!

First Game — Newspaper Dance

After the short Q&A, the trio played the Newspaper Dance with a lucky fan that was paired with William! The aim of the game was for the pair to stand on the newspaper. They may only touch the newspaper but not the floor. As soon as the music was turned on, the pairs had to “dance” as best as possible. Any team that touched the floor would be eliminated from the game. William and the lucky fan won the game!

Second Game — Air Hockey

Two lucky fans were asked to play alongside William and Bentley. The first person to score two goals wins the game. William and Bentley won against the lucky fans, which made them very happy and excited!

Second Segment — Salu-Salo

After a short break, the Hammingtons came back dressed in traditional Filipino outfits. For this segment, they were asked to try different Filipino dishes, such as banana cue, champorado, adobo, and lechon! William enjoyed eating the banana cue and adobo while Sam loved the lechon! 

Third Segment — Tuklasin

The trio had the chance to learn some Filipino words like “Pogi“, “Makulit“, and “Mahal Kita“. Sam also mentioned that he wants to go back here to the Philippines to visit Boracay, Cebu, and Palawan with his family.

Send-Off

Sam was emotional as he thanked the fans who came and supported them for their first fan meeting in Manila.

“Thank you to each and every one of you. It means so much to me and I’ll never forget this day,” he said. 

After their Manila stop, the  Hammingtons will return to Australia for a two-week vacation after three years.
