[PHILIPPINES] The Dreamy Lee Seung Gi Returns to Manila for ‘The Dreamer’s Dream – Chapter 2’

Lee Seung Gi graced us with his charismatic presence at the press conference for his 2023 Asia Tour Concert: The Dreamer’s Dream – Chapter 2 held last May 27, 2023 at the Market! Market! Activity Center in Taguig City.

The actor was welcomed with loud and energetic screams from Filipino Airens present during the media conference. “Namiss ko kayo (I’ve missed you all),” he said. The Vagabond actor also mentioned that the warm welcome of his Filipino fans stuck out to him the last time he was here in the Philippines for a fan meeting in 2019. He shared that he is delighted to come back again for a concert this time around, telling the press: “My goal is to finish the concert well.”

Having debuted in 2004, the South Korean actor and singer is set to celebrate this 20th debut anniversary next year. When asked about what other areas he would like to venture into in the future, he said, “I have been acting, joining different shows, and singing. It would be hard to do something different now. I want to be focused on the actual things I’m doing now.”

For his next role, Lee Seung Gi mentioned that he hopes to act in a romantic-comedy genre wherein his character would be a doctor, which is something that is quite popular in Korea.

Before ending the short Q&A with the press and fans, Lee Seung Gi reiterated how much he has missed all of his Filipino Airens. He also shared that he is currently working on more projects and that he hopes that all his fans would look forward to them.

Later that afternoon, the award-winning actor and singer held his solo concert at the New Frontier Theater. The Manila leg of his on-going Asia tour was his fifth stop after staging concerts in Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, and Taipei.

Looking dapper in a navy blue pinstripe suit, Lee Seung Gi kicked off his concert with his songs The Dreamer’s Dream and Wind. Filipino Airens’ energetic cheers did not falter even for a moment despite the actor belting out somber ballad songs. This made Lee Seung Gi laugh on stage, saying, “Manila is the best!” He also shared that he is very thrilled to be back in Manila after not being able to visit the Philippines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He then sang his other songs, Return, The Ordinary Man, I Got to Know It That Way, Forest, Circle, Like A Flower, Losing My Mind, Desire and Resent, Delete, and Because You’re My Woman. Despite being more well-known as a talented actor, Lee Seung Gi’s powerful vocals also prove that he has earned the “Ballad Prince” moniker as well!

In celebration of his 20th debut anniversary next year, Lee Seung Gi also performed an unreleased song for his Filipino Airens which the actor hinted may be included in his 20th anniversary album.

To cap off the concert, Lee Seung Gi promised his beloved fans that he will be back with more music and projects. He also hopes to be back in the Philippines again in the near future!

Did you miss Lee Seung Gi, Filipino Airens?

The Seoul Story would like to thank CDM Entertainment for the media invite! We hope to see Lee Seung Gi back in Manila soon. 🙂
