[PHILIPPINES] SHINee’s Minho Captivates Manila with ‘MEAN: Of My First’ Concert

It was a night to remember for Filipino Shawols as SHINee’s Choi Minho brought his signature flaming charisma to the New Frontier Theater in the Philippines last March 16, 2025. With Manila as the grand finale of his first solo concert tour, MEAN: Of My First, Minho delivered a show that was equal parts electrifying and heartfelt, leaving fans with memories they’ll hold onto for a lifetime.

From the moment he stepped on stage, Minho had the crowd in the palm of his hand. With a beaming smile and infectious energy, he opened the concert by greeting fans in both English and Filipino. “Philippine SHINee World! Did you guys miss me? I missed you too! How are you? I am Minho,” he called out, instantly igniting cheers from the packed venue.

The setlist was a carefully curated journey through Minho’s musical evolution. He kicked off with high-energy tracks like Would You Mind, Affection, and Fireworks, showcasing his dynamic stage presence and dance prowess. But it wasn’t just about the upbeat performances—Minho also revealed a softer side, serenading fans with emotional renditions of Prove It and Stay For A Night, moments that brought the audience to a hush.

Throughout the evening, Minho’s gratitude for his fans was palpable. Noticing the fan events prepared especially for him, he paused mid-performance, visibly moved. “I really lost my concentration because there were fan events. Thank you very, very much,” he confessed, his voice filled with genuine appreciation. He marveled at the energy in the room, remarking, “I really love the warm energy and even the weather here in the Philippines. But your energy made me fly even higher for tonight’s concert.”

Minho also paid homage to his roots, thrilling longtime Shawols with performances of SHINee classics like View and Body Rhythm. It was a reminder that no matter how far he goes as a solo artist, his connection to SHINee and their fans remains unbreakable.

As the concert neared its end, the emotions became even more raw. Minho reflected on the significance of this final stop, admitting to feeling a mix of joy and sadness. “Maybe because this is the last stop of my concert, I feel a little sad, but I am also extremely happy because of all of you,“ he shared. Fans, unwilling to let the night end, broke into chants of “Nobody leaves!“ Minho, ever playful, lay down on stage and joked, “Stay here? Okay. Stay here!“

The encore was a poignant farewell. Minho treated fans to an unreleased song, You’re Right, and wrapped up the night with Choice, a track from his mini-album Chase. As he took his final bow, he left fans with a promise that had everyone already anticipating his return: “I promise you, I’ll come back again. I love you! Everyone, you are always my hope. I am absolutely sure that I will return here, and I’ll make another unforgettable night.“

Even after the lights dimmed and the stage emptied, Minho’s warmth lingered. He took to social media to express his love and gratitude, posting in Filipino: “Thank you for having fun with me. Let’s meet again next time. I love you.“

For those lucky enough to witness it, MEAN: Of My First wasn’t just a concert—it was a celebration of Minho’s artistry, his bond with fans, and a promise that the story isn’t over.
