[PHILIPPINES] Park Min Young Shines Bright at ‘My Brand New Day’ Fan Meeting in Manila

Park Min Young, best known for her leading roles in the hit romantic-comedy series, Marry My Husband, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Her Private Life, hosted her My Brand New Day fan meeting at the SM North EDSA Skydome last May 12, 2024. There, she showcased her versatility as an entertainer, proving she is much more than just an actress.

The actress captivated everyone with her radiant presence as she stepped onto the stage, opening the fan meeting with a stunning performance of Bad Liar, an original OST from her latest drama, Marry My Husband. This song was originally sung by (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi. 

The fan meeting featured several segments that delved into Park Min Young’s private life and career. In the Min Young’s Day segment, she discussed various photos and videos of herself. She expressed her happiness with the positive reception and high ratings of her latest drama. The drama concluded with an impressive nationwide rating of 11.951 percent, making it the top show on paid platforms (cable, IPTV, and satellite) in South Korea. “As an actress, compliments about my acting are some of the best compliments I can receive,” she shared.

Moving forward to her Day by Day Drama segment, Park Min Young talked about her role in Marry My Husband. She mentioned the challenges of appearing very thin in the initial scenes for her character, Kang Ji Won, who has cancer. To portray the role accurately, the actress reportedly lost 37 kg. “Of course, I needed to embody the character. For this role, I had no choice but to lose weight,” she explained.

In the next segment, four lucky fans were invited on stage to join Park Min Young in reenacting scenes from the drama. They each had the chance to pose with her for polaroid photos, creating cherished memories for both the actress and her fans.

In the Ask About Min Young segment, fans submitted questions on post-it notes, which Park Min-young then selected randomly and answered. When asked about her next romantic comedy project, she replied, “My next project might not be a romantic comedy, but I will consider it for the future.”

During the My Choice segment, she played a balance game with the fans, where they had to choose between two options related to her. Four fans emerged victorious and had the chance to take a photo with her.

In the Made by M.Y. segment, Min Young designed an eco-friendly bag, which she gifted to one lucky fan who had traveled all the way from China for the fan meeting.

Before saying goodbye to her fans with a cover of Miley Cyrus’ Flowers, Min Young was shown a touching video filled with messages of admiration and support from her Filipino fans.

In a heartfelt gesture, Min Young read aloud a handwritten letter she had prepared especially for her Filipino fans. “I’m sorry it took so long to meet my Filipino fans. It would have been better if I had come sooner,” she began. “My love for Beans have grown unbelievably bigger compared to when I was younger. So it’s a bit late. but It’s rather good. It’s always our fans who make me want to do my job better. So let’s be happy for a long time. All of us… See you again. I love you,” said Park Min Young.
