Being one of the stand-out debuts from 2015, the boys of MONSTA X are showing no signs of slowing down as they performed in the Philippines recently to officially start their First Asian Fan Meeting Tour.
Prior to the official opening of the press conference Shownu, Wonho, Hyungwon, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Jooheon, and I.M were heard teasing each other as they goofed around backstage for the laughs.
Looking dashing in all black outfits, the seven members took time to pose for the cameras and answered questions from the media. Wonho shared they were excited to make memorable memories with the Filipino MONBEBEs (official fanclub name). They then expressed how thankful they were for those who have supported them by naming their first ever concert in Korea as one of the highlights of their career in 2016. They hope that they could also have a proper concert tour for their fans overseas.
The Seoul Story had the chance to ask questions such as what genre they are looking forward to do in the future. Minhyuk cheekily answered that they really want to try a cuter and more energetic concept which the members immediately opposed to. To switch things up, we then asked them to tell anything to the person next to them and Hyungwon suddenly told Jooheon that he’s very handsome and the latter replied with “You, too. Love you.”

Their song ‘White Girl/Love’ was mentioned by Kihyun as their favorite song in their latest mini album due to the reason that it was written by their member Jooheon and the fans seem to love it as well.
The session wrapped up on a high note as MONSTA X thanked everyone for waiting for them and Wonho’s sudden ‘Mahal namin kayo (We love you)’ marked the end of the press conference.
MONSTA X FIRST FANMEETING IN MANILA
A huge surge of anticipation was felt once MONBEBEs entered the venue and started singing to MONSTA X’s hits while waiting for the fanmeet to start.
An intense VCR was shown before the boys went on stage wearing white angelic outfits as they started the fanmeeting by performing their debut song ‘Trespass’ followed by ‘Steal Your Heart’. MONSTA X expressed their gratitude for their sold out fanmeeting and promised a fun and memorable night with all their MONBEBEs. The crowd got to know more about the boys as they played a simple game called ‘Truth Or Lie’ wherein they answered some questions with the help of the lie detector to confirm the results.
Random facts were revealed as the game progressed such as Minhyuk pretending to sleep everytime to avoid cleaning, Kihyun is actually proud of his acting skills and wants to act a bad boy role in the future, Jooheon threated by I.M’s aegyo (followed by I.M doing a sudden aegyo dance for all the fans), and so much more. The boys then continued on with a light atmosphere as they sang ‘Ex Girl’ and ‘Honestly’.
As a tribute to their ‘No Mercy’ era, MONSTA X set the place on fire as they performed pre-debut hits such as ‘Hieut’ and ‘Young’ which made the audience stood up, rapped, and danced to the beat. ‘Be Quiet’ is the title of the second game and the boys were joined by seven lucky fans that became their partners for a funny game of charades. The winner received heavenly backhugs from all of the boys!
Wearing cute animal onesies, MONSTA X showcased their ability to dance to girl group dances. Wonho, Jooheon and Minhyuk danced to GFRIEND’s ‘Me Gustas Tu’ while Kihyun, Shownu, I.M, and Hyungwon danced to Red Velvet’s ‘Dumb Dumb’. They then performed to Twice’s ‘Cheer Up’ together on stage. Maknae I.M even gave a bonus performance of the viral dance ‘PPAP’ which earned lots of laughter from the audience.
The fans’ energy were undeniable as screams and fanchants erupted as soon as MONSTA X started singing their hits continuously. ‘Stuck’, ‘All In’, ‘Hero’, and ‘Rush’ were definitely crowd favourites as they sang along much to their delight which made the boys danced even harder. They then performed their powerful latest single ‘Fighter’.
The fanmeet came to an end with the members singing to ‘Sweetheart’ and ‘Amen’. The songs’ heartwarming flow made MONBEBEs sang along wholeheartedly so much that Wonho was shocked as the gesture as they waved their banners containing supportive messages for the boys. They then bowed in all directions as they thanked fans for supporting them and promised to come back as soon as possible.
