South Korean actor Kim Seon Ho reunited with his fans (affectionately called as Seonhohadas) at his Love to Meet Our Good Boy fan meeting with BENCH/ last July 22, 2023 at the Araneta Coliseum.
A few hours before the fan meeting, the members of the press had the opportunity to catch up with the actor to talk about his career and his experience as a global ambassador for Filipino retail brand BENCH/. Other Korean endorsers for the local lifestyle giant include Wi Ha Jun, Ahn Hyo Seop, ITZY, Stray Kids, and ENHYPEN.
Kim Seon Ho shared that working with BENCH/ has truly been an honour for him. He added, “BENCH/ treats its artists like their family. No wonder the brand is one of the biggest here in the Philippines.”
Working with the BENCH/ team was easy for him. He also shared that he was very happy while doing the photoshoot in Korea, as well as working with them here in Manila. When asked about what he thought of BENCH/’s clothing line, Seon Ho said that he likes wearing the brand because it has many different styles, it’s comfortable, and it fits him perfectly!
Kim Seon Ho made his debut as a theatre actor in 2009 and went on to star in productions such as New Boeing Boeing, Sherlock Holmes, and Rooftop House Cat. He later branched out to television acting in 2017.
His popularity soared exponentially in 2020 after starring in the hit K-Drama Start-Up as Han Ji Pyeong, a start-up investor haunted by a tragic past. His portrayal eventually earned him a nomination for Baeksang Arts Award for Best Supporting Actor in the television category, and it was also through this role in which he earned the moniker “The Nation’s Good Boy”.
In 2021, he starred alongside Shin Min Ah in tvN‘s Hometown Cha Cha Cha. The K-Drama was a certified success both in Korea and overseas, becoming one of the highest-rated shows in Korean cable television history and one of the most watched non-English series on streaming juggernaut Netflix.
When asked about the characters that he played, Kim Seon Ho thinks that he releates to his character in Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Chief Hong Du Sik, the most. “I’ve played happy and sad characters, but I’m the most similar to my character in Hometown Cha Cha Cha. I like talking to people. I would like to have conversations with a lot of people. I like the light environment and ambiance,” the actor explained.
Kim Seon Ho also shared that he usually studies a single role for months. He communicates with the writers, directors, and he looks up references that he can use so that he can play a new character well. For his next project, he said that he would want to play an ordinary person who can have normal conversations with a lot of people.
Are you excited to see Kim Seon Ho in another slice-of-life drama? Because we are!
