[PHILIPPINES] Kim Jae Joong Stealing Hearts in Manila With His Highly Anticipated Visit

It has been more than a decade since the South Korean singer and actor debuted in the industry yet Kim Jae Joong’s Filipino fans were still eagerly waiting for his visit to the Philippines! As part of his Asia tour, the Manila leg of the fan-meeting was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on November 30th, 2017.

 

The show started with Jae Joong’s arrival on stage; he flashed his precious wide smile, completely overwhelmed by the passionate welcome from his fans. He introduced himself in Tagalog, saying “Mabuhay! Ako si Kim Jae Joong.” (Hi, I am Kim Jae Joong.), and also apologised for being unable to come sooner.

 

Jae Joong wanted to share an intimate atmosphere with fans, so the first half of the show was a time filled with fun games that both he and the fans enjoyed. For the first game, Jae Joong selected a few fan-submitted questions. He answered “Cebu” as his ideal vacation spot in the Philippines, and “Books, movies, and the image of my past” as the great things to which he draws his inspiration from. He also shared that he might return to the small screen with a new drama next year!

Jae Joong wanted to test his fans’ knowledge about him, so for the next game, the fans had to guess the answers during his mini trivia challenge. Through this special game, we got to know that Jae Joong is currently very enthusiastic about his dermatology sessions (he feels younger while he’s in it!) but he can also feel his energy decreasing as the years go by. Three fans, spotted in slumber party attires, were also invited to play a game of charades with the man himself!

 

An amazing observation from his fan-meeting in Manila was how tailored it was towards the Filipino culture. Jae Joong immersed himself in it by tasting local beer and food on stage in addition to humming to a few popular Filipino songs, and even followed the novelty dance craze of the country which he found very interesting.

 

The final part of the fan-meeting highlighted Jae Joong’s amazing artistry as a performer when he showcased his hit songs “You Know What?”, “Although We Met Again, We Should Meet Again”, “Runaway”, and belted his powerful vocals to “My Only Comfort”, “Now is Good”, and “Good Morning Night”. The fans were in for a treat as he delivered a short choreography of TVXQ’s “Rising Sun” that had the audience dancing along to.

 

Witnessing the wonderful beauty and immense talent of Jae Joong during the fan-meeting was truly a delightful experience for everyone proving that the wait was truly worth it! We are excited to see more of him as he embarks on his future projects.
